Nah. What Microsoft should have done is made a kit simular to those 'PC Relocator' programs where you could network the old Xbox with the 360 to transfer the contents of the hard drive to the new machine.

  2. To Rockstar: I want my money back! on 'Hot Coffee' Scandal Officially Resolved · · Score: 1

I may get modded troll for this but I am annoyed with the whole 'Hot coffee' ordeal because I can't trade in my copy of GTA:San Andreas at any used game store because it has the 'bad' content on it and apparently has been banned from sale. I didn't really care for GTA:San Andreas and I was very pissed off when I was told that I couldn't trade it in towards something else because of this.

I would sell it on Ebay but last time I checked, they're flooded with other people trying to unload their copy. In turn, it wouldn't be worth all of the hassles of Ebay to get the few dollars that it would fetch.

  3. M$ and their secret Windows back door on Windows Genuine Advantage Makes Few Friends · · Score: 1

I and many others have always suspected Microsoft had some sort of secret backdoor to shutdown any Windows machine. It makes me wonder if Microsoft used this as a threat to the U.S. government to get the anti-trust case dropped (aside from possible bribery). Heck, they could use this same backdoor to bring the E.U. to its knees should they (the E.U.) decide to keep pressing the anti-trust issue....

  6. Evolution from Single Cell to Multi-Cell on Is Evolution Predictable? · · Score: 1

I will be impressed if they can get single cell organisms to evolve into multi-cell organisms. Now that would be groundbreaking. I think the key would be to somehow put the organisms into a situation where they would have to work together as one to survive a common threat or predator. The thing is, it might not take several of the same organisms but a few different ones with varying skills/abilities that complement each other.

I used to do this on my Commodore VIC-20 with the text adventure cartridges. I would play part of one and then carefully swap the cartridges. Sometimes the machine would freeze, other times I'd find myself in a strange world where everything was mixed around. I would have items in my inventory that normally couldn't be carried. Room descriptions would have lines from all sorts of different rooms. Using room exits would send you to all sorts of bizzare places, sometimes you'd end up inside your own inventory. It was pretty crazy. :P

I apologize if I am being off topic but since Revolution Dev Kits are pretty cheap. I was considering getting one myself as a way to break into the console gaming market. However, $2000 is still a big investment for someone of my current income level. Therefore, I have to ask if anyone can point me in the direction of some reviews of the dev kits as well as some more detailed information of what they include (especially in the form of development tools).

    Thanks in advance. :-)

Perhaps this is part of their strategy to keep the cost of the console down. Instead of having a ethernet port, you could just use your PC and SD/USB storage to get the games to the machine.

This could open up the possibility of downloading games via your PC instead of just directly to the console. They would probably ask for your Revolution's serial number to lock/encrypt the game's rom to play on just that machine.
