Then again, what's a user? If you have one download for one public PC used by 1000 people every week... How many users does that make? I'm not arguing how misleading or not the figures are, but I think those figures are used because those are the only figures they have. How they translate into real users is anybody's (educated or uneducated) guess.
Personally, I think they're merely optimistic about their numbers. We can e-mail always them and have them put a '*' next to the figure with small print at the bottom of the page explaining the nature of http transfers and what not if we really are unhappy.
I don't feel utterly cheated for spending *zero money* on *trying* their product because of figures some may call misleading. I don't really know who would feel that way either.
They have to figure out a way to make the game fun as opposed to just plopping the player down in a vast world and expecting him to be happy to wander around awestruck by the environments they're surrounded by.
This is one of the things I liked most about Morrowind. I never even bothered to complete the main quest, I just had fun running around and finding new and very cool things. To each their type of play, I guess. For playing them since the old 'Arena' days, that's what always did it for me.
Well, here's another one for you. We produce enough *beef* (not sure how it is for grain and fish, but it's not too far behind) for every one of the 6.5 billion people on this earth to eat two hamburgers a day. We're not lacking food at all globally, but there's a bit of a logistics (and economical) problem with handing it out to everyone. Truth is that it costs a lot less to just throw the excess away or at best have it recycled.
If something this big really did breakthrough on the first of april... Imagine the guys in the lab, having to wait 'till the next day to be taken seriously;) "But we really do have fusion!!!" "Yeah yeah..."
This is still a bit of a debate, but: Shark != Bony Fish, Sharks = Cartilaginous fish
The distinction is important, because taxonomy-wise, that makes them as different from 'fish' (bony) as mammals, amphibians, reptiles or avians. It's a split at the class level. A warm blooded shark is not as impressive as a warm blooded bony fish would be.
Of course, since chondrichythes (cartilaginous fish) and osteichythes (bony fish) still contain the word chythes (fish), sharks are still refered to as 'fish' but biologically, they're just as different as the other classes. They just also happen to look kind of the same.
The same mistake is often made between reptile and amphibian, or aracnids and insects, etc.
Assuming that this would be viable... One little problem that the article fails to mention is that the 'revolutionary' and 'clean' process for getting all that ZnO into useable Zn using only the sun is... *Carbon Monoxide*. Israsat calls that a 'minor byproduct'. They might have a bit of work to do before this is called a clean source of energy if you ask me.
And though it may be rated as funny, this is quite serious, I've gone back to school myself. I used to be the kind of student who got away with just taking the exams with a few hours of review ahead of time not so now however. I haven't quite figured out weither I've gotten dumber or the work itself is harder. I figure it's both and hope it's mostly for the second reason;)
I wonder if this could be used to 'record' what you say in your dreams. This could provide some very interesting insights on that aspect of the human psyche.
I probably fail to take a lot into account, but it would seem to me like water is a pretty nice place for life to begin.

... as it is common Microsoft lore that Balmer can be deadly with furniture.

It looks at today's newest computer games (e.g., F.E.A.R.) and compare the 3D effects.
Pffff, the author is soooo '2005'...

For soldiers chewing gum.... Or tobaco.
"Sir! We cannot get a status report with all this noise! However, we can clearly hear that Bob may need some more Nicorette soon."
I believe Castro offered to send 1100 doctors and 2.6 tons of meds.
... 'cause we've got the bomb!
Disclaimer: This refering to a quote, don't 'troll' me because you don't know Denis Leary.
... the guy who came up with that (pun intented) was a pr0n junkie? Got to keep the left hand handy (pun again ;)...
He who has the gold makes the rules.
Same as pulling fish out of the ocean from a boat. Beer helps, manly ego motivates :(
Oh the sneaky bastards! And here I was trying to look smart... I'll sue! ;)
The company is 'Ahead' ;) But that's just a detail.

The Bernoulli Principle. And I don't think computers crashing are going to affect it. This isn't the Matrix, after all.
Pfff, we all know which pill *you* picked...
Any respectable action hero could tell you: All you need is a big enough gun.
I agree. What we should do is build a linux piloted *fighterplane* and sneak up on one of their test flights ;)

... of gigantism in the automobile industry lately?
Whoever called it the 'New Economy' had never gained marketting whisdom from Coke's mistakes.
