No, because relationships and reactions between components in the brain take place on a subatomic level and involve not only matter but energy. In short, not only would you need to recreate all the atoms of the brain in the same positions, but also recreate the states(velocities, momentums, charges, etc.) of all the particles that make up those atoms and also any photons that happen to be milling about. Since we don't understand all the fine points of how the brain works, we would need a "snapshot" of a brain in action to recreate with our hyper-replicators, instead of a blueprint to create one a peice at t a time.
I beleive that NetZero does still offer a free service, albeit a horrible one. Limited to 10 hours/month, banner ads, shitty speeds, ick.
However, there are still a few free dial-up services out there. Before I got Comcast, I used an anonymous PPP logon to NoCharge.com, which only has service in western Washington(me) and the New York area. No ads, no software, no SMTP(unfortunately) but overall a very good service. It's comforting to know I can fall back on them when I have to move and cancel my broadband service.
That is obviously a typographical error and not a mispelling. I'm sure you're aware of the difference and how to discern one from the other through context, jackass.
There are already plenty of electronics in cars that would render the car "lame" if disabled. If the lightning bolt fried the power circuits for those self-unsrewy screws, then logic suggests it would also fry the circuits for the alternator, ignition, battery, etc. If you go around with an EMP, you are going to fry the ECU and all related circuits anyway, although some cars can run without one or don't have one in the first place.
It's just that nobody sees it. Slashdot doesn't show Anonymous posts by default. It's almost like being invisble, except you can't steal things or look at girls in the shower without getting caught. Welcome to Zero-land, O Anonymous One.
Erm, hello? "Attitudes like this?" I don't think you realize what his attitude is. Maybe you should read the post before you reply....the grandparent supports space travel!
From the GP(2 friggin' lines!):
"...to refuse to explore space is foolish in the extreme."
A thought struck me after reading your post...I too have noted that many people on Earth decry all space activities because of the huge risk involved or because going to space is a pointless endeavour and our energies would be better spent here.
All this seems to me like a mother who can not stand the thought of her babies leaving the nest. Of course, people have left home before, but only the homes of their families or their villages, etc. This is a bit grander in scale....the Earth is home to all of us.
Can't you just hear it?
"Space?! Now what would you want to go to space for? What, the Earth's not good enough for you now? Is that it?"
I am beginning to think that the number of compromised windows machines out there has led to an absolute security CATASTROPHE of science fiction proportions.
Abso-friggin-lutely.
I'm not really that important or interesting a target...I get constant connections from many different computers all over the world...
I recently put up a small webserver for serving files from my PC through my cable modem...I have told perhaps three of my friends of it's existance. And yet, when I look at my access logs, what do I see? Page after page of various IP's trying to root me with obvious scripts/bots(all have been exploits for Microsoft servers which I do not even run.)
Actually, IIRC, The U.S. funded/developed Cassini itself(the main probe), while the ESA(European Space Agency) was responsible for Huygens, the piggy-back probe destined for Titan. The ISA(Italian Space Agency) did....what did they do again?(serious) Some scientific instruments, I think....
.......hmmmm, it seems that even wrapping it in the "URL tag" doesn't remove that space from the filename in the topmost URL. A bug in the new Slashcode maybe? Or is that supposed to happen(???)
That's UNIX licenses. The SCO ballyhoo is about UNIX licenses, not Linux per se(you know, GNU's Not UNIX?) Linux is based on UNIX, of course, but there's no such thing as a "Linux license," so it's certainly not available from SCO.
Try setting Firefox as your default browser in the "Set Program Access and Defaults"(assuming WinXP.) It's in the same window as the add/remove programs.
starting with your computer, all it's components, access providers, etc. - all made/provided by CORPORATIONS or other business types.
Ummm....actually, those things were made/are provided by people.
A corporation is a fictitious entity which is actually composed of a group of people who are afforded some rather odd and unfair luxuries under the law.
Or are you so "brainwashed" that you actually believe corporations are people too?
Actually, I think their site was a pretty sensible use of flash. Not anything near the atrocities I've come across. Those animations would have been a lot more time-consuming to do without any flash...what would you have them do? Use Java? GIFs(the horror..)?

But how do you establish that a certain set of behaviours is organized or non-random if it is not computable?
Bam!
Two Birds...
One stone.

I browse at 0.
What do you mean, former? I still see Bill with a Borg faceplate if I click the "Microsoft" section. What do you see?

Well sure it does, along with with all the rest of your apps when the latest Outlook exploit borks your OS.

That wasn't so hard was it?
O.K. How would I do that? Care to point me to the place where you did your research?

Over 3 million confused since 2000!

Oh, if only I had mod points, you....little....#%^.
To avoid further confusion, I'll just post the url:

Also, here is Let's Corp.'s official page about the

That's in Japanese as well, sorry Slashdot.
Plenty of nice pictures, though.
Oh wait, I just fed a troll, didn't I?
Oh well....eat up little buddy.

Heck, the robot could do double-duty as your porn server!
