computers/tablets can be a great learning tool, it just depends on how you use them. they can replace lecture books and greatly enhance on them because they can be made interactive and have various types of media etc.
even for more practical lessons watching a video, for example, is a great introduction if it is combined with actually doing it afterwards. when i need to do something i haven't done before, i look up several video's on yt to get a general idea and know what to expect before i go on and do it myself.
Did Apple even do market research on why they don't get a big foothold in India? I'm sure the things they've now come up with were not in the top things to change. This is a market where even $50 android devices have a hard enough time.
death threats? really? because there was no other browser available they could use that didn't require an id verification. it was a bad idea, i agree with that, but it should have just died out because nobody (in their right mind) would use it.
how it works here is that no ISP owns the cable or does the cable work. it is another company that takes care of the cables and ISPs can then use these cables to provide internet to their customers, ofcourse ISPs need to pay the cable company for using it. same story for electricity etc.
we'll never be rid of oracle, if a company such as amazon even has a though time migrating away, imagine the chances of a normal sized company to do so. the best advice would be to never use it. like a hard drug, it is hard to stop once you've started.
how can you still keep saying, with a straight face, that the US educational system is better then what we have in Europe. This is just lunacy, soon there will only be education for the rich, and by then it will be too late.
as long as these great results keep going, Apple isn't going to change their strategy and all you people complaining about connectivity options, the decrease in build quality and increase in buggy software are just ignored.
Amigas were not cheap. About the price of a midrange gaming PC in today's money.
yes, in todays money you'd get a very decent PC, but back then the Amiga was cheap compared to PC's and offered way more (colours, sound, multitasking OS).
it's interesting to think of corporations as foreign communities. The idea is that they blend in with the locals, but if the group is big enough they just form their own communities, with local shops from their place of origin. In the end they all stay together and don't blend in at all, some of them won't even be able to write/speak/read the local language. Now it seems that big corporations are very much like that, if they are big enough, they will provide for themselves, without any benefit to the local city. they just need a place to be, they couldn't care less where it is.
1. buy only well supported or open devices 2. (if you can't do that,) do not connect them to a network 3. if you must connect them to a network, make it a private network, make sure it is properly setup, closing all ports by default 4. if you can't have them on a private network and they must connect to your lan or worse, internet - hope for the best.
can't we assume that every planet (except, perhaps gass planets) and/or moon was capable at a certain point in it's life to support life? as the planet/moon ages it loses these capabilities and ends up a dead rock, remember earth will be inhabitable at a certain point as well.
Does anybody have any figures for the nutritional value of this burger? Is it healthier then a real-meat-burger? It's not because it contains no meat that it is always healthier.
And then we ofcourse of the environmental impact, meat has a very high impact on the environment - cows just demans a lot and turning those cows into burgers as well, how does the production process of this burger compare?
It just seems like they're spending more money on litigation than they'll ever get back in sales from this. Just because you have the legal right to do something doesn't mean it's smart to do it.
even worse, a loss in sales as respect for the companie decreases. it's not as if there aren't other consoles available.
on linux, depending on the filesystem and mount options; copy a large file on a usb meduim which has an activity led. when the shell prompt returns, unmount the filesystem and depending on factors mentioned above you will see a lot of activity happen on that drive before the umount commands returns.
the solution is to not allow applications to install executable files on your device. What possible good reason/excuse could these applications have to do this?

That's Belgium, but i'm sure other EU countries have the same model.

Most things a normal sized company needs a database for do not require something that can scale like Oracle does.
well, it doesn't scale for big sized companies either, because that is why Amazon is migrating away from Oracle.

instead of fixing a broken system and make it more modular and flexible, let's ADD machine learning to it, that will solve the problem!
only on windows you get a malicious payload when installing a fsck FONT PACK!

"...developers who had apps removed complained on Reddit"
Really, THEY complained?! Those poor developers!
but the goldilocks zone is also not fixed. for example, when our sun will expand the gz will shift.
Let it go, will ya?you just use the Black terminator and all is golden.
Golden? I thought you said it was black.
the gold part is refering to the price.
No link to the games in the article, links in the summary are for other games. So where can i download it?
Great idea btw, if the army can make a recruting game, anything goes.
i said 'at a certain point', it is not because they have no atmosphere _now_ that they never had one.

i think (and hope) the purpose is for admins that have a linux desktop but manage windows servers or use azure cloud.
