Of course you meant to add that using Windows isn't nearly as cool as being able to do differential calculus in your head while you juggle. Man, I'd pay to see that!
name any that ain't already as corrupt and bought out as america is.
Venezuela?
Kidding aside, your statement should have said, "name a country that is not more corrupt and bougth out than America is." I'm not just spouting blind patriotism, America is one of the least corrupt countries. That may be changing though.
Of course, then there is the other side. When I took Spanish in Jr. High, the students from Mexico almost always did the worst in class! I always thought it was a little weird, especially since it was basic Spanish.

Umm, hit the full screen button? It actually looks quite good at 1280 by 960.
I think that's your ISP or a Firefox bug. I've tried a bunch of searches in Firefox and they've all been very fast. I'm not a MS apologist, by the way - I'm a huge fan of Google but I don't really have any problems with MS's new search engine right now.
Definitely mod this parent down. The site looks good in Firefox, Opera, and IE. As with the other person who replied to the parent post, I search for Windows and get good results. There are actually some intriguing features. My biggest problem is that the address right now is search.live.com. It's too long to be practical. I know you can bookmark and add it to the search engine boxes built in to browsers, but there is a large difference between typing google.com and search.live.com. Ok, so I'm lazy but it is a big difference. Now if they changed it just to search.com (or something similar), that would be something.
I believe XP has been booted on the new Macs or at least there are instructions on how to do it. I have not verified that the steps on the linked site work but it looks promising (and complicated).
Part of why Apple doesn't talk about battery life is because the MacBooks are likely still being tweaked. The laptops don't even ship for a few weeks at the earliest. We'll hear soon enough.
Eww, do you know how gross that would be? It's not just about cavities. There is gum disease, bad breath, umm and other stuff to worry about.
Maybe I'm just a bit compulsive but if I miss brushing my teeth in the morning, by night my teeth can feel pretty grimy (no I don't eat a lot of sugar).
You also easily get $400 worth of good usable software when you buy the Mac. It's not all about hardware costs; you have to factor in the whole package. iLife and the other included software are great.
Shhh... Don't bring up trivialities (even if it might be the real reason for the ratings increase).:) We like this news because it will hopefully encourage more *inexpensive* on-demand access to TV content.

They don't monitor what's on your computer. They only monitor what you have purchased from them. As an example, In the "Just for You" section where the iTMS has some recommendations for me I already have 4-5 of the 10 recommended songs on my computer in iTunes. This is why there is a little button you can click that says "I already own this" or something like that. They only track the songs you have purchased from them and base their recommendations from those.
I agree. However, Dell is notorious for having big sales (30% off coupons, or more) and that works so in real life if you wait for a good deal (they happen a lot with Dell) you could get the $2600 Dell for around $1900. You do get a great deal for Macs in part because of all the good software they come with.
Tapes will degrade as well (think cassette tapes). While CDs may not last forever, they certainly are much easier to use and more prevalent than tape backup systems (I'm not saying they're better). The world will not switch to tape systems. Besides CDs can last as long as tapes if you store them in a cool (not cold), dark place. If your data is so important, then you should be careful with your backups and certainly won't rely on CDs; you'll have HDD backups, CD, flash, and whatever else you can get your hands on.
I definitely agree about the CD quality thing and everything like that. However, the reason I buy songs from iTMS is so I don't have to buy the whole CD. There are some albums I would want all of the tracks from (so I buy the physical CD) but other times I just like a song or two (or maybe even 5) from a CD and don't want the rest. So if I can spend $5 for the music I want rather than pay $10 to $15, I will, even if the quality is lower (it really isn't very noticable unless you have high-end sound systems, which I don't). Anyway, there are a lot of reasons why iTMS is popular.
The Revolution is the only console I am even thinking about getting. Both Microsoft and Sony want to have their machines do everything (and are both bigger than the Revolution, which can fit just about anywhere, it is so small), Nintendo just wants their console to play games. The controller looks intriguing too, of course. Between quality of games, interesting controller, and lower prices, if any console maker gets my money, it will be Nintendo.
There is no research evidence that violent movies or violent video games are cathartic. I'm not saying that violent games cause violent behaviors, but there sure isn't any evidence that they decrease violent behavior (which is exactly what you were suggesting, even if you didn't mean to). There is a lot of evidence that children who view agressive or violent behavior (live or in TV shows) are in turn more likely to be more aggressive or violent (e.g., the famous and classic Bobo doll experiment by Albert Bandura). Sure, some of these findings are still controversial but Bandura's experiment has been replicated enough to show that there is a pretty good correlation between viewing violence and acting violent. If you're wondering about causation (maybe more violent [or aggressive] children choose to watch more violent things, which is true), the kids in Bandura's experiment were randomly assigned to either watch adults violently attack a big plastic doll (those ones that are kind-of like punching bags with sand in their base) or not. Kids didn't have a choice to view the violent behavior or not and the ones who did committed more acts of violence towards the doll than kids who didn't see the adults be violent did.
Bandura's experiment was more about kids imitating adults than violence, per se, but kids are impressionable and will copy what adults do. There are many reasons why some kids are violent and some go on big killing sprees; I believe a lot of problems stem from parental problems (not that you can specifically blame the parents) but violent video games and movies are definitely a factor. But that really isn't the issue; the issue is how much of an influence do violent shows and games have? A little, but it is significant. Some people may find violent TV shows and games to be cathartic, but there is good research evidence that violent shows and games will increase acts of aggressiveness in many more people than it will decrease aggressive behavior in.
Could can ask for a human to review your posting (ask for an exemption). On the front end it is much easier to "censor" out anything remotely related to child pornography (even if it is condemning it) rather than face the legal charges that would come for promoting or hosting or linking to child pornography. I mean, how easy would it be to post some child pornography posing as an anti-child pornography article?

There is a box you have to uncheck to not have it install the Yahoo! toolbar. Just pay a little more attention next time you are installing stuff. :)

All of the Civilization games, the Sim City series, Warcraft, and currently, Battle for Middle Earth. Oh, can't forget Enemy Territory either.

True, but at least Apple doesn't ruin the software (or at least turn it into bloatware) once they acquire it.
