You think the ones posting actually read what we have to say, they are busy enjoying their glow of "I just posted a story on slashdot and feel above all else, why would I read what our community thinks, I am above the law now!"
Seriously, how many times have we seen cmdr taco post a useless piece of crap story and totally ruffle our feathers, then do it again the next day, they don't read these posts, only WE read them. I agree though being a developer, I tend to think of a singleton as a nice piece of uniqueness , guess it shows the level of journalism on this website.
If the FBI had a system to access, you would not see it on the internet, it would be a separate fiber line, which only certain field agents would have the tools to access. We are talking about national security, they would not take a chance on putting their network accessible over the internet
I guess they will never be happy, even when everybody tells them THEY are the problem not the solution. Geez, telling the courts you don't agree will hopefully cost them all their money in fines and fess, and then go bankrupt and leave us to our torrents!
Wait a second, don't compare apples to oranges, I am the first to agree with you about conspiracies to go into another country and steal their oil, but for one minute, if we were to assume it was a REAL attack, not staged by their own gov. then they owe it to their people to retaliate else they look feeble and attract more even more attacks from not just one terrorist cell, but all of them. This was about respect and retaliation when the US was attacked.
If we use the bully at school, you would tell him to stand up to that bully correct, else the bully will just keep going at him. The USA had to do what they did, IF IT WAS A REAL ATTACK, but because you and I both DON'T KNOW the real facts, we can only accept it was a real attack as told to us by the US gov. If another country comes up with sound proof that it was in fact a staged event, then we could speculate, but innocent until proven guilty, is the American motto I believe.
Interesting, figure this, if you just need to ask someone who has had the same problem how to fix it, else you read the accompanying doc on how to troubleshoot, it will always be faster to get an answer right now. If you have to read, not every one reads at the same pace, as well, if I were to say this, I am sure I would probably be mostly wrong, but we all listen at the same speed, although not necessarily understand what we are hearing....so multiply this by how many problems in a day.... yes I agree that this model is much more efficient, but also more personable in applying yourself to interact with others. Easy to say to someone to read the manual, however explaining it takes patience, understanding and a knack for helping others learn, its a win win situation
Everyone is jumping on the firefox bandwagon as the best alternative to IE. Why destroy their momentum??? Everything google is offering with chrome can already be done with firefox, what is the advantage then, why bring out something that is already there, at least give us something to change to that is new and fresh....
I think this is one of those bad moves by google in a long list of good ones.
The only reason I would agree with this model, and with the same model to be implemented into email messages, is to be able to avoid having spam as we know it. Imagine the guy that wants to use someone else's account, it would take very little time if someone charged up a whole bunch of emails even at.0001 cent it would still trigger a flag somewhere that I am being charged for emails I am not making, or that the spammers would have to make a whole lot more money then this to stay afloat.
As the possible first post, I want to make sure no one thinks this is in anyway related to the markets crashing, as it stands if china did originate the attack, they are losing as much as the USA right now, and are still losing dealing with their own problems(with the food illnesses). I was one to believe that Chinese were doing a lot of hacking on purpose to advance in cyber tactics, however this move if were caused by them, ended costing them more then it returned.
It may more have been a Russian hacker rerouting through china using tor or something.
IBM was only one of his choices, although a poor one, I would opt for google, seeing as they already own the internet per say...they are trying to cache the whole thing on their backend....imagine that....why not allow them also to geometrically setup a cache of dns servers rolling out lookups...they would be able to do it...and have the room for all the bacxkups too!
This is a good day for being a penguin and even better day if your colors are orange. If I had stocks in ubuntu, I would be doing a happy happy joy joy dance
Actually the demand is CHANGING, which in turn is making it as we know it vanish, I totally agree with the horse and buggy analogy, you have to go with the times, and vinyl is out cds are in, cds are out micro disks and mp3s are in, dvds are out, downloads are in...etc.
If we live in a world where joe blow decides he sells his movies for 40$ a piece, dont wonder why no one wants to buy it. People are getting smarter because of internet, seeing how low it costs to mass produce these cds in china(which is where Paramount gets theres movies mass produced) we tend to think why is it they get to tell us that something that cost them 2$ per movie to make, they should get a return of 25$ per movie etc... At some point, you (the producer) have to take into account technology advancements.
Horse and buggy makers did not grease the palms of politicians to pass bills to stop the usage of cars...for their own ends. Offer a download of the movie from your server at a fraction of the cost, seeing as I now saved you from creating a copy in china....give me better deal!
Nope, just like the music industry big wigs trying to hopelessly stay in business, now the artists are getting smarter and selling their own downloads (radiohead) and get better return for their work by cutting out the useless and overpaid middle man.
We are talking about images though, where the procedure would not know where the original image pixels started and where the rectangle image ended etc.
I agree most apps that crack the black rectangle do what you say, but technically the image being obfuscated does not have fonts.
So true, I agree in giant amounts with you on this, and find that there is way too much of this going on on the web, with the illusion that by hearing the sound of someone's voice, you are more apt to think it is worth listening to, instead of skimming through the text for keywords and eliminating what you don't want to read (which is usually half if not more of the article)
Just give us the choice, if I want the video i will download it, have also the text version, so I can not waste my time with a 56k connection trying to download your stupid 30mb. videography.
Why do you not have a better plan for keeping older players interested in your game. In the expansion you are offering certain incentives for new members to join, however I feel that you lay the older members off to the way side, the ones that suffered through your numerous patched and problematic servers at the beginning, the ones that have been paying 15$ monthly for the last 5 years, those are the ones that made you rich and should be justly rewarded.
To keep me interested and to try different classes, offer the character bonus, if you already have 1 lvl 70, creating another character(any class) could offer your new character better xp then normal. Meaning it would take half the time to lvl another 70, then if after this one, you could half that time again, listen I only have 1 70, and cant afford to keep paying you to try new story lines based on class....i guess I will just live through my friends druid to know what a druid feels like...
unless you offer something better for the long time players.!!!
I laid claim to the world's 3rd axis a while back when I read the story of the equator getting wider from the melting of the polar ice caps, which led me to believe that there was in fact 3 rd axis to the earth, in its quest to circle the sun. No one quite took me seriously, however, if you take this into consideration, it could be the reason we are experiencing global warming of sorts, it isnt gloabl warming, as much more then a shift of the axis, which is throwing certain continents out of wack....imagine now canada is the england and iceland is now poland and etc...etc... we may have small shifts, depending at what point of reference the shift is happening from a 360% position.
If you take a cueball from the game of pool, when you put a spin on it, you will aim high to make it go low, similar to aiming low to make it go high, etc...so depending on where the focal point is located, the shift would have to be calculated from there to know which continent is now which!
You mean to tell me that they can install hidden malware into out hardware devices, but when we sell them items(we , i mean poepl that are not chinese) we have to show them proof that there are no hidden backdoors, smart....very smart grasshoper....now take stone from my hand!
Of course he is, his own team, which profits from the makers who somehow filtered some money his way, and make all of this hush hush till after the elections where oh behold, we were not using good machines, we'll know for next time, now I guess we are stuck with the president as is for now till next time.
Why would they not offer a special rack mount system that soaks up the sun during the day with solar panels, so that by night time, you transfer what was taken in during the day, thereby needing no electricity bill. This might be a great incentive!!

Must have been all that bad BO

I guess this means if the market was closed then no trading went on,
therefor no prices were able to go up OR DOWN???
When you think they decide the worlds economy and how things relate on an international level,
it is VERY pathetic and scary at the same time!
