I still don't understand why we haven't come out with a password when you give out your business card. The person sends me an email, my email client would get the email but before inserting into the server, would read the password which is in the subject or body, no password, no entry on the exchange server. I imagine any emails that don't contain the proper password could still be kept in a separate folder which gets deleted at the end of the day or something, but I do agree it would take everybody all at once to implement this to make it work.
I would like to know how you set up your nix bos to play WoW, as I am trying to switch from windows to linux, and my only reason not to is WoW, if I can get WoW to work on linux at home, then I would gladly switch.
Could you tell me which distro you use, did you have to set up wine or was it already set up on the distroo...and for installing WoW, a quick step by step if you could would be great as I am still trying to figure out why last time I tried it failed...thanks a million in advance!
Its pretty easy to adopt a new standard when there was nothing in place yet to begin with, come on...what do they have over there 4 or 5 servers...tops?
Seriously, when I was offered a contract to develop a government project in Africa, I was told there was so much corruption in government, that even if we developed our software, it probably would not be used, as there was too many people wanting to keep the present day systems, as this was the way they made the extra revenues, and able to make their mortgages. It was a smoke screen to show there was development but not that it would actually be used.
If fixing code, just put it inside a REALLY BIG try catch and put an exception for all the types of errors that are presently bugging the system, this will be good enough for a promotion until you get to the next job and move up the ladder....let the guy after you figure out how to proceed....:P
I was told, the only time online poker is fair, is when you are playing a small hand game, 5cent bets etc... this way no big fish are interested in the game, and regular people have a fair chance at winning.
The problem stems from the big game poker, where someone is sitting at home with 5 accounts on 5 computers and has 5 bots running at all times with special keyboards, and ends up ruling the table where the 6th player is you....no matter what... he takes your money.
I have seen it done, and since then do not bother with playing poker online.....give me the real game.
What the hell are they talking about, if the guy carries a laptop with him and hitches a ride with the guy from Verizon, they could pretty much do the same thing in the same places, we could even offer the guy from Verizon a bit more money and he could carry a device like a palm pilot that just checks for wifi connections, 2 birds with one stone.....seriously please, why should the public pay or even worry about for the big companies plight on making their products and services better???

If I say the sky is blue, and someone else says the sky is blue, we do not necessarily see both the same blue, he may be seeing my red, yet would not know because all his life he was told it was blue... So let's take it a step further, if we know that the facts are irrefutable, yet we make decisions based on theories that have no proof of being right, we are making a decision on gut feeling or a hunch... these hunches can not be wrong , not to us, they can be wrong to someone looking at the present situation and may be more experienced about it, but at that moment in time, you were supposed to do what you did, hence the feeling we get to do this and not that. We swerved into the other lane, causing that person to be a little more cautious, which maybe later affected him in such a way that had he not been more alert would not have seen the car slow down half a mile up and could have been in an accident....sometimes things happen because they need to happen, so says the universe.
Correct me if I am wrong, but |Google have their library project which is in courts as we speak about copyright infringement of artists( writers) works. Isn't this called hypocrisy???
We all know the middle east blocks everything, because they want to control what their people think. They wont allow msn chatting either because communicating to the outside world without paying for it is illegal, as in Syria...so whats new....let me hear about something important please...no more useless nilly willy.
In all honesty I think this technology is meant for backing up data, and until the price of a writable br dvd comes down I wont be buying them. I went to best buy the other day looking at maybe getting one, heck a 50gb dvd to do back ups with, but then I saw the price of the dvd....25$ a dvd... are you kidding me??? It will be a long time before I get into this, I was looking forward to like 3$ a dvd or something, that would be ok, but 25$....yeah, they can keep their technology.
I concur with that statement and will add a bit more. I believe by limiting your choices you take away a slew of individuals that will want to pay using means they know is safe such as money orders. Paypal is hackable, you can't hack a cheque. The money orders and cheques do not provide Ebay with a cut as does paypal, this is pretty sick if you ask me.
I know I may be stating the obvious, but we all know that the only way someone can own the name.gov is now if the were able to poison the dns cache on a server you are pinging...so what about for safe keeping I was to let's say, ask for 103.45.3.23 which is the actual server the us government uses. This would avoid all these problems for posting your taxes online, and it's not like I need to remember a million of these addresses, how about just 1....the one you are needing to post to, make it available online everywhere, so that if people want to feel safer, they can use the number instead of trusting a man in the middle saying what the url resolves to....no?
I really hope they get revoked, it would be nice the rules to apply to EVERYONE for a change. When i get in a few minutes late at work, I get told off, and get a reprimand.... when I am late on my taxes by just a few days, I don't get any extra couple of days... so why is it that they should be any different.
Let everyone learn this lesson, so that in future, they follow all the rules...
