This is coming after 5 years of when it should have, i remember getting winternights and thinking about something more like wow, and thinking i had been cheated a bit, now 5 years later they r thinking of catching up, sorry jedi knights is coming out and also have starcraft2 to deal with, i doubt i will have game playtime left...even if i give up wow.
I will say this once, and then i will move on, seeing as you are not getting the picture. Here is a clearly defined picture, of India who is having trouble already keeping their country going, for what ever reason, whether disaster or just feeding their people, you really think having texting towers should even be in their present list of priorities?
Now that fully understand I was talking about priorities and all jokes aside, have now come to the conclusion you are a devil's advocate, I wish you many OTHER posts to go pester through out your day.
I tend to agree, as I could also use my smartphone terminal to log unto that supercomputer, and have a thin client application that is the GUI for setting most info for the processing needed to be done, then let the supercomputer do its thing, and then have that thin client visually display the results, so no real supercomputing going on here...
Intel bought HP, so they now have hardware, and they bought McAfee, so now they have an antivirus and malware program (does mcafee also doe firewall, ???) , they only need their own OS, and they are good to go to have no part in running windows ever again on their machines...
watch out Apple, here comes Intel computers!
I for one welcome our new computer-clad, chipmaking, virus-protected, OS challenged overlords
So often the/. stories now come from sources that have been paid off the run articles etc..etc... then you have the stories some laimbrain thought up (sorry CmdTaco) as being important to us geeks, yet really has nothing to do with/.....like how to roll your underwear up in your bag to save space....
This story is pewky, period. No mention of html5 whatsoever as a viable source in the near future for replacing these other 2.
>I don't believe society understands what happens when everything is available
Actually, you have the perfect example in a small town, where everybody knows your name, who you are, where you live, what you have done...etc. The only exception is that they have no choice but to move away to a new town as far away from their own town to avoid anyone knowing what happened. Changing your name is not possible, unless you are made of money..so I think the first Google generation wont be able to get by, but all generations after that should be brought up with the thought that anything you do or say can be captured and posted online, so think twice before you tarnish someone's name or start sending out pics of your butt to your friends.
Parents need to be more proactive especially today, in their kids lives, whether real or virtual, to avoid cyber bullying, to avoid sexual predators, and also to avoid all the junk that comes from being young and stupid. Our lives no longer remain real, they are virtual as well, so now the parents must be even more implicated!
I have taken from all companies I worked for, a copy of certain software's that I worked on, specifically due to the nature of the coding. If ever there was an implication later on, I could prove that the records I have with the dates show exactly what was what when I left, and nothing can be said to be me, but having been added after I have left. This is usually the case when dealing with accounting software where legal issues can come up much later in life and come back to haunt you. I have signed a disclosure form for each company so I know that I am not stealing and that I am under obligation not to share the code, so all in all, it is ok for these exact purposes, but it depends individually on each person's contract with their company, what is allowed and what is not.
This is exactly what the star wars program was all about, and still is, although the gov. will never tell you. We know so little when it comes to what our gov. are doing. I am glad I live in Canada, where our navy is about 5 ships long, and our army is more known to be useful for UN jigs, then real military coos.
It almost sounds a lot like X10 system (from Sun ?) which networks all your home appliances and devices, even your thermostat or your fire place...), having said that, I see a cool way of avoiding sending too much down time technicians that will take the extra time in traffic to go to your house goof around talking then find out they need a replacement piece, then go back to the store and whoops, need another day now....where as this way, you know what is broken up front, and he can come prepared with a replacement part for only 1 trip instead of 2, makes sense.
How does one of the biggest domain provider's end up being hacked, I understand if the website hosted on their domain was serving it up because of their own coding error, but a widget that they themselves created for their customers to provide content gets hacked, does not really leave me to impressed. Better start checking all regular domains being hosted with them, to see if I visit them or not....wonder if/. is one such customer?
Anyone got anything ? No funnies yet? The 3d experience, being well, up close and personal, I got nothing...... wait....i feel one coming on....it's coming,.....nah, my wife is calling, be back later...
Maybe I am wrong, but is there not some huge water disaster over there right now flooding etc... should this not be like, the least of their concern, and maybe getting relief and food out to their people, instead of wanting blackberry towers? Maybe they will all be able to text where they are located to send the boats for them???
Haven't heard much about BP these days either, yet they are responsible for the worst disaster ever on this planet, you would think media would still be swarming all over taking water samples to show how bad it is, yet they are being paid off to help untarnish BP's image, I am sure the guys in the mexican mafia are smart too, and can see the importance of keeping most of this out of the news.
Facebook users need to learn no one really cares that much about their lives and what they do from minute to minute, and having 50000 friends online waiting for you to post what you ate last night makes no sense, and that it is time ill spent, so guess what, more people should just walk away, it has its uses, but really , are we all stars? As for the app being thrown in there, too bad there is no real schema in place AI type going through all the posts to see what facebook users are spewing, and if too much is the same (like a spam) it gets analyzed further, and gets stopped much quicker....i could see that.
I use the same password and username on most gibberish accounts, exactly for this purpose, i do not need a special name for some unimportant website i use for reference for this or that, as i really only need it to post a question or answer, where as the important ones all have their own system, following an easy guideline like my user name for hotmail is xxxxhotmail@hotmail.com and password usually has some of the website name too, so that they are all easy to remember yet all the same when it comes to remembering the algorithm.
This is a step forward and should be used to set a precedent, especially amongst the scientists who are not at all involved with the evil crap being done by companies for patents etc....seriously, can you imagine if we could just make cures for the sake of curing illnesses....we might have half the illnesses we do today.
BOB the newscaster> In other news, in the same small town of bumbf*cknowhere, a mine shaft has imploded and released a yellowish cloud, that could very well contain some chemical agents within, this mine shaft is 1km away from the school.....no one is able to tell is there is any side effects to this cloud,....back to you Anne,
ANNE the newscaster> We have now more people claiming they are projectile vomiting and finding blood in their urine, local authorities say this WIFI must be stopped and can see no other REAL reason why this would be happening to the students. The city officials say that the WIFI , although never having ANY other documented reports or towns where such illnesses have occurred, are the main cause for their illnesses and that WIFI must be stopped.
BOB the newscaster> Sorry to interrupt Anne, I just got word that in fact now this yellow cloud coming from the mine shaft has been confirmed to be of chemical nature and that no one should go play in those mines, not even the students of the school only 1 km away. Back to you Anne...
ANNE the newscaster> As i was saying BOB, we really have no real sound evidence that WIFI is the cause of these illnesses, but local authorities know without the shadow of a doubt, that the WIFI is to blame...as many of these city officials went to local schools here to study real hard and get their degrees, they MUST know what they are talking about...back to you BOB!
I tend to agree that it is dying out, these were old rituals and not well thought out...especially with the population we have now! If a burial ground is sacred because it has remains of people on them, then why not cremate them all and assign them all their own lot 1x1 with a small headstone, as a replacement for that big package you bought way back when...and then people can visit INSIDE a building out of the rain, and elements that erode those headstones etc...less vandalism too!
Anyways, i never understood this concept, although I am sort of catholic. I tend to know many beliefs just do not work for today's world and growing demands, we have to adapt, and maybe virtual cemeteries are better when you want to go see a loved ones passing or some reminiscing, you could visit their website, and have some video footage etc...much better then old fashion headstone being your focal point for hours on end , in the rain none the less
I would be more apt to say something like "I saw you Ed, last night when you thought no one was watching, I can see what you are doing in the dark. Stop it that's disgusting!" Really screw with their heads, or maybe if you are actually twitting people from a dead account with an auto script, send people a nice bday wish from the dead guy!, then everyone will be talking about how this dead guy keeps sending text and mail from beyond the grave.
i heard even the windows kernel was affected by this, maybe i guess the stupid developers are all at microsoft then?

Exactly!, Kudos to you my man
I was being facetious, sorry about that, thought you got the joke.

sad but true, today it is always about greasing the big wheel in the sky to perpetually keep moving forward.
