We are also concerned that no company should be permitted intellectual
property rights (IPR) over core Internet infrastructure.
This should be a concern for all, no matter how you feel about MS, or even if this was another company, like IBM, HP, etc. The standards which hold the Internet together cannot "belong" to one company.
True, but some people would probably f-it up, we are Geeks after all, and would spend the rest of their lives as invalids, sucking off the Medicare teet.
The advice that most experts offer is deceptively simple: Dr. McEwen, for example, recommends getting enough sleep, avoiding cigarettes and alcohol, eating sensibly and exercising.
I believe they used parachutes to help land the rovers, so they do work. I think the atmosphere is thin, but with a big enough chute it will help to slow it down.
PCW: You're known for being pretty outspoken, having been fined very heavily by the NBA for on-court outbursts during games. Do you ever regret the things you've said?
Cuban: Not at all. Not even a little bit. It's just the nature of the industry. It's not all that much different than technology. It's like standards in technology, it's kind of like HD-DVD versus Blu-ray. It all becomes very public and that's how people negotiate.
I've never heard of anyone being fined by the ACM or IEEE.
But do they have a plan on where to store the waste? With all the problems, both scientifically and politically with storing our own waste (Yucca Mountain), they need to find a repository to handle that much potential waste.
We believe the current license is generally incompatible with open source,
contrary to the practice of open Internet standards, and specifically
incompatible with the Apache License 2.0.
While not exactly the same issue, wasn't MS complaining about Apple not "opening" the iPod format for them to use with their music site?
How has your life changed since the introduction of the Patriot ACT?
It has, but probably in a good way - I watch politics much more closely than I used too. No, I don't fear for my life or think the library police are coming for me. But the fact that we are even having this conversation tells you that a lot of people (not all people) are concerned about what our government is doing in the name of "protecting" us. I don't blame W for 9/11. I think the protesters are doing a great job in New York. I think Kerry has the wrong position on the war - I'm not a Democrat - but I'm also not a Republican. What I meant about my comment about marching in lock step like sheep is that most conservatives tend to back "their guys" to the exclusion of all else - like the Limbaugh ditto heads - their philosophy seems to be go along with the crowd, don't question and attack anyone who disagrees.
From a "Historical" viewpoint though, wouldn't you agree that 9/11 is a little different in terms of the other wars you mentioned? I don't recall that any of those wars had non-combat Americans, in America, getting killed. My point is that the governments reaction to this, from a "historical" viewpoint is unprecedented. Time will tell if we are still posting freely on/. and bitching about our rights - I hope so.
Wow, who knew it was so easy and cheap, now I can get out of my Amish lifestyle for something more modern.

You shower?
True, but some people would probably f-it up, we are Geeks after all, and would spend the rest of their lives as invalids, sucking off the Medicare teet.
Just imagine how much we'd spend on healthcare if porn was ever banned from the Internet.
Unfortuneately, all the extra work caused by the increase in claims has caused great stress to healthcare workers.
How can I do all that, I'm too busy working.
Geez, what a depressing and stressful article.
Actually, there are five, he forgot "Cloaking Device".
I believe they used parachutes to help land the rovers, so they do work. I think the atmosphere is thin, but with a big enough chute it will help to slow it down.
Looks like another way to ostracize neighbors you don't like.
I've never heard of anyone being fined by the ACM or IEEE.
Interesting that they call it the "Zen", since Zen teaches inner contemplation and quiet listening to oneself and body, not MP3s.
Actually the word will probably be: Mozilla. China is forward thinking not just in going nuclear, but at looking to open source software.

Yeah me too, I don't always know what I'm doing but I have a great deal of fun doing it.

Well, either we are the only intelligent life in the universe or we are not, either answer is awesome.

One tries. Hope you didn't hurt yourself - geez, Mt. Dew through the nose - that's gotta burn.
More sparse comes to mind - but that may be a good thing. Time will tell.
Yeah, I much prefer Heinlein reference humor.
Yeah, I did an apt-get title - gotta love that Debian.
No, your're thinking of Kansas - Dust in the Wind.
