There are official forums, but it seems like NVIDIA doesn't care. It is REALLY frustrating. I think I will be going back to ATI/AMD for my next video card.
I noticed their later drivers are seriously having problems in Windows. Linux seems fine to me, but Windows drivers' quality are getting worse and worse. I remember 8x.xx versions were pretty stable and had very few issues with them. NVIDIA needs to get its act together on their drivers. Good hardware, but bad software (Windows) these days.
Who said I thought using XP SP0? I was making a comment related to other older Windows like 98 SE and 2000 SP4. I am using XP Pro. SP2 with all updates.
For me, I visit/. too much. I think CmdrTaco or someone else from the/. staff team told me that I visit/. too much to get any. Yes, I did metamoderating. I have gotten some in the past though.:P
Use a straight Gnutella client. Take Phex, for example... it's open source, GPL'ed, available from SourceForge. It asks you on installation if you want to share anything: just say "No". Wow, is Gnutella still popular? I used to use gnut(?) command line many years ago (probably before BT and eMule/eDonkey). It didn't really find a lot of stuff compared to them.
The other thing to remember is that, if you want to illegally download songs:
a. don't use a swarming protocol like Bit Torrent (not a good choice for small files anyway) and,
b. make sure you're a leecher (not lecher, as I assume most Slashdotters already are.) As I understand it, all these cases have come about from the people making files available, not the people actually downloading them. How does one leech with P2P clients? eMule/eDonkey, BT, etc. all want upload requirements.
I remember when DVDs and new technology (e.g., branching) were new and some players (especially cheap ones and computer software DVD players) had problems with them.
MPEG files are bigger and have higher quality than Flash video format (FLV). People would have to wait longer to watch those MPEGs for those with slower Internet connections.
Isn't 600 watts SeaSonic S12 PSU enough? I don't use cheap PSU brands either. Yeah, NVIDIA and Creative have crappy drivers. What can I do? NVIDIA = newer games require newer drivers. Creative hasn't updated its drivers. I refuse to use onboard sound and other sound cards because of lack of EAX support in games.:(

Massive multiplayer games! I think X-Wing Alliance had this. I would like to see a bigger version.
I briefly tested it. I liked the whole mythology theme. The game was pretty buggy and had issues. It's basically like WoW, LOTRO, etc.
I didn't HAL had a donkey. [grin]
Underclocking makes things slower. Do you want people to go SLOWER? :)
NeoSmart server seems to be down. Here's a mirror.

No, it's PWCT (Problem With Chair Thrower (Steve Ballmer)). :)
And the employers fire you since they hire cheaper people (e.g., outsource) who will do more hours without OT.
Thanks for the password. [grin] :D
Why do you want horny birds? That's sick. [grin]
Am I low enough? I never used C&D though.
The Lone Gunmen showed a monkey using Linux:
...
SCENE 10
(Back in the barn. FROHIKE carries PEANUTS in and sits him on the table.)
FROHIKE: All right. Time for a meeting of the minds. Talk, you thief. Say something.
BYERS: Please, Peanuts.
LANGLY: Speak.
YVES: He can't. He's a chimpanzee, he doesn't have the vocal cords for speech. Haven't you figured that out yet?
LANGLY: So what can he do? Besides Grand Theft Auto.
(YVES places a laptop in front of PEANUTS, who immediately begins typing.)
FROHIKE: It's gibberish.
BYERS: No. it's not. It's Linux.
LANGLY: He's downloading some sort of voice synth program.
FROHIKE: Wow! Way to go, Peanuts.

Interesting. I wasn't aware of that. That's good news for me!
Um, is there an OpenAL hardware sound card? Do all newer motherboard's onboard have this hardware based now with no CPU usage?
