    Eclipse plugins are a pain to write. Eclipse is way to abstract and high level, one needs to write about 10 classes to make a certain word a different colour in an editor. It does not make the life of a plugin writer easier.

    Nearly all FS/OS unixes and linux distributions have some kind of package management tool. It should be as easy as 'port install emacs', 'emerge emacs', etc etc.

    Humans cannot read barcodes. So to a human, the product is not mis-described. If the clerk chooses to accept it then it's a valid sale. I know that's a murky argument.

    I believe in Ireland we have the same law. If a child jumps out in front of your car the safe stopping distance immediatly drops to the distance from your bumber to the child.

    Gmail vs hotmail is different because gmail was so obviusly superiour to hotmail. 1 GB (then) vs 2 MB. Much less ads. How can google do that with IM?

    Nintendo have confired that the Revolution will be able to play GameCube games, so if it's a cube game it'll still play. Nintendo then get a Zelda release game for the Revolution.

    Google are the first source for most web site (through their search engine)
    They want to be the main source of maps
    They are the amin source of email for lots of people
    They want to be the source of books
    Looks like they want to be the main source of music

    Scary.

    Lik-Sang must have some kind of warehouse in Germany because I ordered a GBA SP from them (it was cheaper than getting my friend with her staff discount to buy it for me). It came from Germany and hence I was charged no tax.

    Plus the courier e.g. UPS, DHL et al always put a surcharge on top of the tax because they pay the tax for you at customes and then demand a cheque when they arrive at your door.

    This happend to me when ordering stuff from thinkgeek. The charge for paying the tax was the same as the tax. It's a huge scam.

    I'm afraid I must disagree with you over Metroid Prime. Yes it's shown from the first person perspective, and yes you have a gun to shoot with, but it is not a first person shooter. In my humble opinion it's much more an adventure game than a shooter, and one of th best gamecube games.

    I don't think they think that they have lost a sale, that you would have paid money for it if you hadn't downloaded it. They think that they could make a sale there, they could get a piece of the action. They see music and they see a business oppertunity.

    This is a fantasic. I really hope that someone figures out how to do this. If it is reverse engineered then the DS could become a very nice PDA type device. Once this happens, and is publicised, then Nintendo could benefit hugely from it. I'm off to donate money and pimp this around the place.
