...Why I can't get any HD Channels on my Shaw Direct (used to be Star Choice) Satellite TV. According to Wikipedia, Anik F2 carries French programming and HDTV Channels. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaw_Direct.
I wonder how long something like this takes to get sorted out?
+1.
I have this router and it's awesome. as of today it's been up for 173 days, and the last time it was down was because I unplugged it to re-route some wires. Can't remember how long it had been up previous to that. downside is that it's not wireless, but I have a WRT-300n running DD-WRT that I use for WiFi and I think the combination can't be beat. The VPN endpoint features on this router work quite well, so that's an added bonus too
definitely have to agree on SageTV.
I believe they just came out with a new HD Extender, and it's not ready to ship just yet but it should be by the end of the month.
is coating them with something non-conductive enough to solve the problem? i see that BestSkinEver (and Zagg as well) has some little plastic bits included in their skin that looks like it covers the antennas. could someone that has one with a BSE or Zagg shield chime in and let us know if it's made any difference?
I'm putting together a dual i7 xeon server for a customer in a couple weeks. He's planning to run SBS 2008 on it. if he's not doing any virtualization on it will he be affected?
When you bookmark a page, would it be real hard to have a checkbox to allow/disallow that particular bookmark from being displayed in the awesome bar when typing things in? I know it pulls pages from history as well, so maybe have an option to turn just history off?
Seems like there's about 10 different ways to go about this, and still have your porn...
I still believe that my Memorex M-Flyer is the fastest flash drive out there. Sure it's only 2gb (there were hopes of a 4gb for a while, but it got canned for some reason), but it's faster than any other flash drive I've ever used by leaps and bounds. A quick comparison with a Kingston drive and a ~600mb ISO shows the transfer to the kingston at a little over 2 minutes, where the M-Flyer was under a minute. By the looks of their website (http://www.memorex.com/products/product_details.php?FID=217&PID=1171) they are still offering the 2GB M-Flyer.

You do know that you can copy your steamapps folder to another machine that already has steam installed on it, right? I did this with a couple machines at home, I copied TF2 and Portal to a newer, faster machine, because to download it all over again was going to take way too long. I closed steam on both machines, copied the steamapps folder over the network (or in your scenario you could copy to an external hard drive or flash drive if you have one that's big enough) and pasted it on the target machine.
considering you don't even need to reinstall the game on the target system, I'd say it doesn't get much easier than that.
They aren't trying to make it safer for anyone, they are trying to line their pockets with even more money. The sad truth is that eBay makes it a pain to pay any other way. It wouldn't be so bad if their fees were more in line with what a B&M store has for say, a debit/cc terminal. The last time I received money from an eBay transaction I got dinged for 2 or 3 bucks, which is on top of the auction fees. All said and done, I was out close to $6 in fees, which isn't a lot of money I suppose, but it's quite a lot when you look at credit card and debit transactions from a real terminal. Considering the sheer number of transactions they must make, I'm sure they get better pricing on the transactions themselves than the mom and pop dollar store in the plaza across the street, and yet I doubt it costs them $6 to sell ~$100 worth of merchandise in a single transaction.

Def Leppard has got an arm up on the Beatles....err.......
Sounds too confusing... perhaps we should just stick to a numbering system... now who gets #1...

looks like the web server is in a dead zone...

I dunno, but I'm not sure I want my memory making left turns all day long...
