  1. Whatever happened to, "It just works?" on Apple Reportedly Luring Ex-Google Mappers With Jobs · · Score: 4, Insightful

I thought Apple never did wrong because every pundit was detailing its so called, "attention to detail...". So what happened?

One did not need elementary school education to realise that its maps iteration was not just crazy, but it was just bizzare, showed incompetence and was taken as a reckless joke by many of us.

So again, what hapened to, "It just works?"

3: Get rid of the so called MotoBlur or make it an option.

4: Make the phone a real beauty to look at. It should capture one's attention out of the box, i.e. by default. Google for some mock-up images. There are plenty.

5: Make it rugged that a small fall still leaves it working.

6: Make it easy for users to return defective devices, do not let the media define your product unless their definition is in your favor.

    7: Advertise, advertise, advertise.

There are rules to follow in court proceedings. Samsung clearly did not.
We saw this kind of behavior with SCO vs Novell and Oracle v. Google. It didn't work then and neither will it this time.

First, the EU begins their second assertion by not being sure. Are they serious? Emphasis is mine:

Our second concern relates to the way Google copies content from competing vertical search services and uses it in its own offerings. Google may be copying original material from the websites of its competitors such as user reviews and using that material on its own sites without their prior authorisation.

Then they base their next point on this unsubstantiated assertion...again, bold is mine.

In this way they are appropriating the benefits of the investments of competitors.

To make matters worse, they conflate the two issues to emphasize another point, this time focusing on the possibility. Again, emphasis mine.

We are worried that this could reduce competitors' incentives to invest in the creation of original content for the benefit of internet users. This practice may impact for instance travel sites or sites providing restaurant guides...

    Here is the question:

Was any investigation done? Doesn't sound like it!
