I love how everyone else read the first line but not the second.
You certainly bring up a good point by saying that someone thought it was a good idea. Someone in management probably asked an engineer "how can we make it so users can't even see or do anything about the DRM software?" "Well, there are programs called rootkits that can do that sort of thing, but.." "Let's buy one. Go make me a proposal to present to the committee."
No, but if you knew anything at all about chemistry or physics, you'd realize that as the pressure decreases, a liquid can boil even if the temperature stays the same.
That being said, I don't think the water in your blood will actually vaporize at that altitude. However, nitrogen will start to come out of solution and form bubbles in your bloodstream.
I have a high quality 19" Trinitron at work, and I have to agree with you. I mostly do web browsing/email/word processing on it, and the lines drive me absolutely insane. The thin black lines across the white backgrounds are horrible. I know a lot of people tune them out just fine, but in two years I haven't been able to.
The title of the actual article is "Top 100 April Fool's Day Hoaxes of All Time"
Welles performed on October 30.
Therefore, War of the Worlds was not even eligible.
However, one of the April Fool's hoaxes (#66) makes a direct reference to War of the Worlds:
A spokesman for the company later explained that the hoax had been intended as a tribute to Orson Welles's 1938 Halloween broadcast of the War of the Worlds

That Dell is almost 7 pounds. That's a big notebook.
This Lindows thing is less than 3 pounds. That's a massive (ha, ha) difference. The way I see it, it's not such a bad deal for such a tiny notebook that still has a nice sized screen, especially when you toss in built-in super handy CompactFlash.

That's how this stuff goes *shrug*
Your ISP will give you a subnet, not an address.
Last time I spilled liquid ink all over my hands trying to refill a cartridge, I didn't die.
lookie.
Rock on, man :D
Uh, yes.

Yeah?
Get FedEx to pick up a letter in White's City, NM and deliver it to Buttfuck Alaska in less than a week for 40 cents.
Ask UPS to deliver some RAM from your home in the middle of nowhere in Vermont to suburban Seattle in two days flat for $3.85.
A Slashdot
The better songs are going to sound when they get piped through an analog channel and encoded as MP3's.

I'm never buying myself a Trinitron.

No, it's not an English word. At least, not according to dictionary.com or my handy desk reference.
Perhaps you wanted to say "naught"?
That this is kinda counterproductive.

I said nice-sized. 12.1" is much better than the 10.4" ones that come with many notebooks of similar weight. 1024x768 works just fine on 12.1".

The red thing is a beak, not an eye. Notice the yellow collar, which tux does not have (yet waddle does).
It's not tux.
Basic Input-Output System.
;)
I assume you were kidding, but you never know
You're wired to a satellite?

Get a better motherboard.
They're significantly cheaper than modern graphics cards.
Yeah, but how long will the battery life be when you're decoding video and running a full color backlit screen?
No advantage? It has a nice full-color screen and plays movies.
The fact that this solution is complex, and there is no gurantee that all present and future applications will actually work on citrix?
You can easily get a 2 GHz system with 256 MB RAM *and* a monitor for less than $600.
