    Why not? It's no slower than firewire.

    Firewire is 400 Mbps. USB 2.0 is 480 Mbps.

    And you *know* USB 2.0 will be on every new PC in less than a year (it's already on newer mb's and such), but firewire isn't remotely universal?

    You don't need a credit card to use Pyapal. Sign up, give your bank account info, and you can transfer directly from your bank account. If you're uncomfortable with this, cancel your account as soon as the money goes through.

    That's kinda funny.. I have the AIW Radeon in XP. The default MS drivers for the card even worked just fine, right on bootup. I had to install ATI's drivers for the TV to work, of course.. but as soon as I did, everything worked perfectly (even the AC-3 output). Absolutely no problems. Even the new Catalyst drivers rock, never had any problems whatsoever.

    That's 300,000 m/s, not km/s. So, that's 300 km/s, so 40500 km would take ~ 135 seconds, or 2 minutes 15 seconds.

    Looks nice, but doesn't have the functionality and *internal* configuration of a Mac. The current towers (starting with the Blue G3) are the best damn cases i've ever seen. Pull one small lever and the whole thing opens up, laying the motherboard flat right in front of you with nothing in the way. It's even got a very large, quiet case fan built into the side, opposite the PCI slots.

    Someone release a case like THAT for x86!!

    Wow, when Microsoft issues security update they are lambasted for putting out an insecure operating system.

    Apple releases massive security update and they are lauded for their focus on protecting their users.

    Red Hat releases security updates and no one mentions them at all.

    BTW, I find it extraordinary that a new company is making brass caplamps again (Nimex.. IMO sells them), but avoid them. My friend and I picked up a couple at the convention, and refuse to stay lit. No problems with my Guy's Dropper :)

    Umm, they didn't steal love, they stole tangible resources. Electricity, data bits, coax bandwidth.. These are all tangible objects. And they cost money. You can't toss one in the back of your truck and drive away with it, but you can certainly steal it.

    If I hacked a system and wire-transferred $10,000 from your bank account to mine, would you say you didn't mind because I didn't steal anything physical? After all, I didn't take a fat sack of cash from you and run off with it, I just changed some data in a computer.

    Well, it can't mean that they are restricting rights to GPL'd software, because they aren't able to do so.

    Totally false. They would only have to release the source of any modified GPL'd software. I can put vi up for purchase without providing the source code as long as I haven't changed it.

    And the installer or something may be proprietary, so they can restrict that any way they like.
