This is a perfect example of my friend. He was raised with the mentality that he was never too young to take responsibility for something. Hence, his dad (who owneds a business) had him placing orders and running the office work at the age of 14-15. By the time I was working with him and his dad, he could run the entire business at the age of 16. The kid's ~20 now and he's insanely good at whatever he puts himself to. You don't get that from treating kids like kids.
Another important factor in sound signature suppression is the muzzle velocity of the ammunition. In weapons firing supersonic bullets, most often rifles, the supersonic bullet itself produces a loud and very sharp sound as it travels downrange. This is often referred to as a ballistic crack. For this reason, it is more difficult to hush the sound signature of these firearms effectively. Subsonic ammunition reduces sound report, but has a lower velocity than supersonic ammunition and is thus less lethal and has a shorter range.
I really need to lay off the coffee or something, 'cause I read "looking for Earth sized Plants". I thought "Dude! that's one big plant". Okay, back to work now...
From what I understand (and I could be wrong), AMD/ATI is aiming more at the GPGPU market. So we're talking more of a suped up altivec processor in the CPU instead of a full blown GPU. It sounds like the're simply adding a 64 pipleline vector processor to the existing x86-64 core. I'm not sure if this is a bad idea.
I remember programming assembly graphics code in BASIC back in the day. You would set the VGA card to mode 13h and then write to...what was it now...0xa00? That's probably wrong. Anyway, whatever your wrote to that portion of memory would go to the screen.
If you had a huge SIMD co-processor, would it not be possible to rival modern GPUs with this model? Not to mention being able to do some cool stuff like having a video input card dump data driectly into that portion of the screen. So you could have video in with the CPU at complete idle.
You're joking right? Only the highest end desktop could hope to beat this thing. It's graphics processor is probably higher end than any desktop GPU available, not to mention the fact that you want to try to run this emulator on a Laptop? and a x86 at that. I may be laughing all day about this one....
My parents have a TV that they got from their parents shortly after they were married, 30 years ago. I think the thing is close to 35 years old. It still "runs". My dad has said he'll upgrade when it dies, and he's been saying that for 5 years. So don't count on having your TV die anytime soon...
Any bot can play poker, but make one that can play Fizzbin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fizzbin, and you might have me interested. Now that would be a real AI.
They had planned to have voice syth, until the Vista based software repeatedly confused the employees by saying, " Dear aunt, let's set so double the killer delete select all." A few homicides involving close relatives, the courts demanded that the voice module be removed.
At the risk of being labeled as offtopic, or flamebait, there is an old saying by Christians, "Only two things will survive this world: The Word of God, and the souls of men." The more I live, the more I come to realize this is so true. The material things of this world that we hold on to are so pointless.
Or...you can simply believe in Intelligent Design, and then not have to worry about coming up with ways of justifying the view of your existence that you already have.
Okay...there goes my positive karma for the day...
What you say is true, for the Catholic church, and (unfortunately) may churches today. However, there are many of us Christans who follow in the footsteps of those who were also burned at the stake, tortured and killed by this "Christianity" you speak of. Just remember, just because someone calls them self a Christian, does not mean they follow the commands and wishes of Jesus Christ.
I work (and live) at a military style academy. And seeing as we have to shine everything from buckles to brass railings, there seems to be a odd facination with Brasso here. Someone tried it on a cd and it works! Just put a bit on and shine it up. Whipe it off when you're done.
Just thinking of that game years ago...brings tears to my eyes. Those terrible mean words..."All your base are belong to us". The emotional pain...enough to make anyone cry.
But more and more the linux renderfarm world is taking over. Hey even Discreet is switching to IBM, Opterons and Linux. That is a day many thought would never come. I own a Origin 2000 and it rocks. I'm sorry to see SGI go. The Octane Rocked, hey even my O2 is a neat machine.
I like this idea. I have a fairly heavy movie consumption (1-2 a week). If we could get DVD quality rentals from iTunes for $2 a day. I'd be happy. Cheaper than going to the stor and faster. As long as it can get theough our restrictive firewalls on campus....
Most of the hype doesn't matter to me. If a platform supports Linux then it has appeal. If the PS3 runs Linux and lets me develop programs for the Cell with a high end OpenGL card to boot. I'll buy one. At $600 that's a steal.

Actually it's the other way around, the sound of the shell makes very little sound compared to the crack of the bullet.

Am I the only one who read "Hotel Connectivity Provider SuperChick Tracks You". I thought "why on earth would a CCM rock band be working for a hotel?"

What one earth is the datarate of a "full quality DVD?". Why not use a datarate everyone knows like "Library of Congresses per half day"?
And I thought you said "invocation". NOOOOOOOOOOO.....Not the M$ Deamon! We are DOOOOOOOOOOOOMED
Anyway, back on topic...

Video server is ./'ed lookes like they need a "swarm" of servers in a beowulf cluster to handle this load.

And we all know why the Democrats want to go back to paper chads, so they can eat them!
Okay,that was flamebait.

Man, I need to contact Guiness then. I stayed awake during it no problem. Infact, it's one of my favorite musicals.

Does this mean we actually might get a Nvidia powered MacBookPro? If so I actually may buy one.

So what? My destroyer in EVE does 215tf!
Wait....I need to stop playing that game so much.....
sure, but a trashy $600 dell is not going to have a high end graphics chip or a Cell in it. That's the selling point for me.
