Huh? It couldn't have been DoD-wide. I would have noticed. While a ton of stuff is blocked, Especially on our network, I've been able to visit my/. every day.
Hey, I'm a Bushie and just the other day I told a gay friend I envied him. It's getting so I can't stand women anymore. Plus, I have several friends who are Canadian. Generalizations are almost as bad as using the Reply to All button in a workplace with a thousand people.
How useful will it really be? Sure, I like Punk, Alternative, and Metal. But the different bands have diffrents styles within the genra and I may love one band, but hate another similar one.
In 1998 the Commission to assess the ballistic missile threat to the United States gave this report.
There is evidence that North Korea is working hard on the Taepo Dong 2
(TD-2) ballistic missile. The status of the system's development cannot be
determined precisely. Nevertheless, the ballistic missile test
infrastructure in North Korea is well developed. Once the system is
assessed to be ready, a test flight could be conducted within six months of
a decision to do so. If North Korea judged the test to be a success, the
TD-2 could be deployed rapidly. It is unlikely the U.S. would know of such
a decision much before the missile was launched. This missile could reach
major cities and military bases in Alaska and the smaller, westernmost
islands in the Hawaiian chain. Light-weight variations of the TD-2 could
fly as far as 10,000 km, placing at risk western U.S. territory in an arc
extending northwest from Phoenix, Arizona, to Madison, Wisconsin. These
variants of the TD-2 would require additional time to develop and would
likely require an additional flight test.
I'd also like to point out that was 7 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Xbox, but my first one was one of those that cought on fire. Why am I not surprised that there are problems with the 360 at release?
Who cares about the people who still use screen savers? They probably still have those prnters where the paper has the holes on the side and the actual "floppy" disc drives too.
I have the money, an HD TV, and love the first Xbox, but there aren't any games out for the 360 I really want yet so I'm waiting untill the first bomb game comes out. The Box itself should be cheaper by then too.
Not only would most people not know the difference, but while the fastest P4s are on the new socket, you can still buy a retail 3.4G P4 for the 478 Scoket for $280.00 on Newegg. Even a 2.4 P4 on the 478 is going for $116.00. Even if people knew the diffrence between sockets, there are real P4s for that socket available.
At least three of the reviews include some form of the name LUEshi. A quick search of the web reveals several forums where either, someone using that name is banned or someone is complaining about getting flamed by a person using that name. I wonder how many more of those posts might be from the same person?
That depends on what chat site you go to. Some of them out there are very strict and anyone who uses it's as its will get flamed to death. I do admit that most of them are an English teacher's nightmare though.
No, the car's engine charges the battery via the alternator. Just like all normal cars. Hybrids just take advantage of energy that is already there. There's more here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_car
I've done some research into complications of LASIK surgery as my father has had it done and I'm interested in getting it done myself.
From what I can tell, problems are farily rare and are almost always correctable. When my father had his surgery done, there was a problem with his left eye. Since, he has been back twice and they paid for both surgeries. He now has perfect eyesight in both eyes.
Don't get me wrong, safer is always better. But in all the searching I've found, all of the problems were due to a mistake on the surgeon, not faulty equipment. This is a very informative site I've found.

I realize that using a private rating system isn't currently legal. They might have to make an official rating system to get around this. I don't even want to get into what the costs of that would be.
Beyond that, amending the state constituion seems the only alternative means of enforcing game rating through law. In the area I grew up in, the local stores would check IDs for mature games and CDs. I know in other areas some stores don't follow that policy. Really though, movies are enforced throughout the state. I flinch when I say this, but video games are little more than interactive movies. If movies are restricted, then video games should be too. If I had kids, I would most likely buy them the newest GTA game if they wanted it. That's my personal position. But it should be up to the parents to decide what they want for their children for themselves. If this were passed, nothing would stop the parents from buying the games for their children. I don't see why everyone is fighting it so much. The only problem I see is putting it into a form where it would be lawful.
I think this was gone over already, but you didn't seem to notice. In front of ALL military bases, there are large barriers that you have to drive around in order to get in. If you can't see, the odds are you'll hit one of them. These barriers are fairly large and heavy and aren't likely to move much if hit by a car. Thus, the only people likely to get hurt are in the car and I'd personally take my chances with hitting a barrier than getting shot at with three M16s or some of the M249 SAWs I've seen at gates overseas. Sure, you might have a few cuts and your eyes will probably be sore for a while, but you won't have the consistency of Swiss cheese. Also, The Air Force LOVES acronyms. They use them whenever possible.
15 Cents a computer. $60,000 in a little over one year. With a quick search on Yahoo Jobs, the lowest paying IT security jobs start out at $75,000 with five years of IT experiance. I grant you that he was only 20 and likely didn't have much experiance you could put on a resume, but he likely could have been making $100,000 by the time he was 30 working for the other side without the risk.
I've been an anime fan for a while, but it's spreading quickly. It seems like most of my friends watch it now. Not just geeks, but even Jock types.

Mozilla's not stupid, when following the link provided, "Sorry, links to Bugzilla from Slashdot are disabled."

The TV out on my Media Center computer works just fine. No crashes at all. Why don't you just use that?
Yeah, I stoped by last week, but then I realised I'd left my towel at home.
They could travel into the computer themselves and take it over if they wanted.
I have no idea what you're talkin...Hey, look! Shiney!!!!
Hey, I'm still just a kid. 22 isn't anything when my great grandmother's in her 90s and still kickin.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Xbox, but my first one was one of those that cought on fire. Why am I not surprised that there are problems with the 360 at release?
I just use my 32" HDTV as my monitor and use my wireless keyboard and mouse while sitting on my couch. It gives me plenty of extra screen space. ;)
