Sure,I had a computer by the ime I was 7. I had the original Atari before that and I've owned every console Nintendo's put out since they started. But untill I was in High School, my main idea of fun was taking wooden swords we all had and start swinging at each other. Sure, there were a few broken fingers and a collar bone one time, but it was all in fun and kids heal fast. Once I was in highschool, I played video games more, but I would still rather go out on an ATV/Snowmobile or hoseback riding if there was someone else who wanted to go. Paintball is still a blast and If I see a casual foltball game, I'll be playing. Minds aren't the only thing kids develop when their young. It affectes how athletic they are later in life. Now If I had any, sure, I would let them play video games, but I would do my very best to get then to want to get out and do other things.

And from your own refrence, Naur says I don't know where BNF came from in the first place. I don't know -- surely BNF originally meant Backus Normal Form. I don't know who suggested it.

If the population keeps growing, we're going to be in a flood of people anyways, at least untill we outbreed our means to produce food and the vast majority starve. The last 5 yaers are the hottest in recorded history. I'm sorry, but how far back do our climate records go? Not that far in the grand scheme of things. We can get guesses from geology, and what do you know, the Earth has been going from sweltering jungle to frozen wasteland for millenia. Sure, I'm betting a lot of people will have to move or drown. Michigan used to be a sea. There have been fossils from ocean animals found in the Rocky Mountains. Change is the natural way of things. I think it's pretty presumptious of us to think we're causing it. Volcanoes put out far more greenhouse gasses than anything humans do. It's not the only problem we have either. I don't think it's the worst one we have by a long shot. New fuel sources, population control, etc.... The fact that life is still around proves that climate change is survivable and we're more ready for it than anything we know of in the past.

If it continues getting warmer, that's IF, then the ice will begin to melt at a higher rate and we could all be swimming in a hundred years. I don't think it'll happen, but it's not quite as simple as you make it sound. Climate does change, it has been for millions of years. It's not the hottest it's ever been on Earth, it very well may get hotter, but it's not going to be the end of the world.

I could see laptops replacing docking stations. The Battery point is mute as you can use it while it's charging. Guess what, you can hook a laptop up to almost anything you can hook a desktop up to. Desktops do see high end tech before laptops, but they aren't far behind. My laptop may be considered a big boat of a space heater by some of you, but it does what I want it too. I can do anything I use my desktop for on my laptop and I can toss it in my backpack and take it anywhere I want. As for smaller devices, I think it will be a while before they can really replace a desktop or laptop. Perhapse once we have holoscreens or they can interface directly with our brains.

And what's even better, they are pricing based off of cost, not demand. Buisness practice dosn't get much more honest than that. The only way I see they could lose is if they lose customers as competitors are forced to drop their prices by the government.

Most of the bombings in Iraq are done by foriegners who come there to try to make their point.
