  1. problems.. on Philadelphia Considers Free Citywide Wireless Access · · Score: 1

well, considering philly is one of the largest citys in the country.. i could hardly imagine that this would go without a few hangbups. some of which are:
microwave ovens, cellphones, cordless phones, and ham radios. and that is just the technical side. they also have to consider distance, and the money that it would cost. every ~300ft they would have to have a high gain hop.. thats a lot of money, for what? "free wifi" haha. please.

point being, its a damn shame that we're having to go through with the big corporate companies
strongarming the little man. its horrible.. and to think, they got big, because of us.
i remember reading that back in the day, reccord companies would throw free concerts,
do small-community promotion, and so on.. now, since they no longer do that, we result to doing what we know
to more effectively enjoy our experience. not to mention, try to even retain what rights we actually do have left.

note: microsoft is patenting damn near everything that they can, from the User Interface, how software is behaving, hell even shit that they haven't created yet.
imagine when somebody tries to continue to reverse engineer their stuff.. only the world's most pollitically powerful comany's wrath would be hell
but imagine what their dogs for lawyers would and could do to you. this is going to be a long, drawn out hell.. mark my words

makes me wonder how they actually get away with this, considering if you or i do this in the court of law,
    we're borked.
