That being said, I keep hearing and seeing people remark about how this somehow embarasses NASA or proves the "wonders of the private sector". I feel that the people making these comments (including the submitter/editor of this story) fail to realize that, without NASA's taxpayer funded contribution over the span of its existence, what they did this morning would not have been possible at this point. The private sector was able to accomplish this on such a budget because of innovations by NASA that brought this technology out in the first place.

Again, while the radio waves may be unregulated and under FCC jurisdiction, the action of setting up a wireless AP can be restricted.

Get over your geeky selves and realize your right to use a radio spectrum doesn't trump a property owner's right to tell you what to do while on their property.

Just because smoking is legal doesn't mean you can't be prevented from doing so on someone's property. There's no violation of your rights if they do so.

Why mod anyone down for that comment?

Because Shrek is generally accepted as a funny, quality movie packed into a tight 90 minute package. If you don't like the movie, it's a matter of poor taste, not poor production.

Episodes I and II, OTOH, are generally accepted as sub-par films in general, and horrible additions to the Star Wars franchise. In this case, it's perfectly understandable that someone would consider it to be the worst movie ever, even if they were wrong.
