It looks like your mate uses a J2ME solution, which is really not up to scratch. It is so easy to stop j2me software from running, just press hangup. I am not sure that this will be able to disable the phone. I am hoping the article describes a hardware solution, much better option.

How would you seperate the content from the add, without AI? Very, very hard. It would be ever more difficult than having the browser look at a bunch of pictures, and decide which one is an add, and which one is part of the content.
You realise that CPUs user the same material as most beaches, but they still manage to give them many more FLOPS than your average beach. It is almost as if it is more important the way the material is used - nah, that can't be true. If one product is made out the same material as another product, then it must be exactly the same!!!

I don't think this has anything to do with Apple, but more the fact that the movie studios are united under the MPAA, so it will be all the studies vs Walmart, as opposed to one company.

I think you need to look at the big picture, and include software sales. There is a reason they sell it at a lose, and it is not just for bragging rights.
