    Yes, but even a Microkernel will fail if you drop it from a 747 into the Atlantic ocean, while shooting it with a m60. It just works better under normal conditons.

    Officially went through customs, have the stamp in my passport to prove it. They even went to the trouble of stapling some little card to my passport, then removing it 10 minutes later.

    Don't worry about it. Best not to expose yourself to the real world, where things in life are complicated, and companies do perceivably good and bad things. You might have to make a decision yourself. Go back to your little room, the world of warcraft is a much safer place for you.

    Wouldn't the skip try the next operation, and cancel would stop all operations? Say you were trying to copy over a bunch of files, and one already existed with the wrong write permissions.

    It was a surprise. It was also at 4am, so we all did what we had to do. I am assuming that they would deport you, if you didn't cooperate, which would be really weird.

    I flew from Sydney to Vancouver, and the plane happened to stop in Honolulu for refueling. Since Honolulu is in the US, every single person had to get off the plane, have their picture taken, and be finger printed. Then we all got back on, and flew the rest of the way to Canada. It took 2 hours, for nothing. Nobody was staying in Honolulu, we only wanted some fuel. Thanks US.

    And surprisingly, they didn't catch any terrorists that day, either.

    People forget to put things in their pockets, and you probably have more than one pair of pants. Why don't you just eat it - It could come in pill form, maybe even with some vitamins wrapped around it. You take one each day, and bingo, instant entry.

    I remember the days when a cellphone was just a cellphone.
     
    And I remember when people like you were annoying little kids at school, who I could choose not to hang around with, and beat you up occasionally so that you would get the message. I seems you still haven't gotten the message, so I'm coming round!

    I too remember those days, when cellphones didn't have much or a display, on the numbers you dialed (and not all of those). There was no indicators for signal or battery, there was no date or time (very useful recently when my watch was in the shop), they didn't have test messages (also useful, for when I am in a meeting, or want to sms multiple people). Yeah, lets all go back to those days, because you saw ONE game on a mobile, and it wasn't very good... brilliant.

    Ahh, a subscriber to the Microsoft version of the word innovating. Please tell me the last thing Microsoft innovated.

    So, if they are not innovating, and they are not, what are they doing? Answer, stopping other people from innovating. For if nobody else can innovate, then the few little changes that you make might seem a little more innovative (regular definition).

    Possibly, somehow, maybe, Microsoft would decline that little offer. Strange as it may seem. I know, I can't think of any reasons for it either - Microsoft turning down money. It is a crazy world.

    Not sick enough to repear the same old rubbish, like a parrot. Try to understand Google is not a Monopoly. Microsoft is. You can try to make up your own definition of the word monopoly all you want, but it makes it hard to communicate. Legally, Realistically, and any other way possbile, Microsoft is a monolpoly. Google has less than 50% share, so they can't be a monopoly.

    Adobe reader is a piece of crap in itself. Can anyone explain why it has become so huge >16 meg - and hasn't added anything discernible to me? From 1.4mb for version 2, to 16 mb for version 7 - what the hell does it do different?

    It is not downloaded to your hardrive, where you can actually fool around with the file (if you so wish). That is the general meaning of download, you actually have a copy of the data, to do with as you wish.

    Supermarkets in the UK really suck. They are either miles away and too big, with everything you could possible want, and loads that you would never want, spread out the size of a couple of bootball pitches. Or they are close and really small, with only a few items, and you can't get to the shelves becuase people are waiting inline to get to the checkout. I have never seen such long lines as here in the supermarkets.

    Also they are a rip-off and the fruit and veg tastes like paper.

    Speak for yourself. My amazon store has a great location, right in my living room. Very nice and convenient. Not that I really but books anymore - does anybody still read books, I thought that was what the internet was for.
