    So you ONLY program for work now. You NEVER program a small project on your own time, for yourself. Then I would say you have lost the passion. Sure, we can all brag about other stuff we have to do in our lives, if you think that makes you special you are a moron. But somehow I still find time to program, even now.

    I bet that someone who flew planes recreationally, or enjoyed driving on race tracks would be looked on very favorably during the interview process. Which is the whole point of this discussion, except it is a lot easier to get into programming projects in your spare time, and a lot more naturally.

    I started programming before I went and studied it at Uni,because I loved it and enjoyed it. I still do, love it and enjoy it, and do program after work because I do. Not as much as I used to, due to other commitments, but I still do.

    I still hate flash, but picked up the iPhone sdk very quickly.

    Of course, this is not the point, the fact is that there is now an extra way to produce apps for the iPhone, which is a good thing.

    Of course, someone dissected the app, and it is a horrible binary. But that can be improved.

    That is completely incorrect.

    There is nothing stopping this guy calling his app Twitch.nl, or Twitch.co.uk

    The app store will differentiate between them no problem.

    Most people just use the name, but there is nothing stopping this guy form doing that.

    The fact is, this guy is talking shit. He has no evidence except that someone has taken the name twitch, and a few other people have experience similar problems. This doesn't mean there is a conspiracy, or people squatting.

    One of the big problems with the App store is assholes like this, who are making up shit without any evidence.

    You don't need a loop hole. Companies do this all the time, they are allowed to dump a certain amount of toxic chemicals in rivers/lakes, have been able to for years, and have been doing it for years.

    The episodes that stuck with me:

    The kid whose parents are worried because he has to go sit a test. He does too well, and is never seen again. That one stuck with me through high school.

    The button, where this family is given a button that will give them a million dollars, and kill someone who they don't know. (being made into a movie).

    iPhone Apps have access to your number, and every single number in your contact database, as well as all there details like names. They could easily get this information as well.

    Oh yeah, a totally different world. For example, in one corner, you have a bunch of developers producing a product to run on a Microsoft device, and on the other, you have... exactly the fucking same.

    You can pretend that it is different, it doesnt make it so. There is no reason consoles have to be locked down, whereas there is a reason to lock down mobile devices.

    No, you are wrong, and clearly have never been on the end of one of these systems. If you hear nothing, there may have been a problem with your submittal process, you may have been forgotten, or slipped through the cracks somehow. It can drive you crazy not hearing anything.
