DO NOT install this in virtual pc under Windows 2003 Enterprise (or possibly XP). On boot the Virtual Machine User Services crash immediately (not sure what this affects) and Internet Explorer will crash immediately on start. Without IE6, I have no way of getting Windows updates...
Especially don't do it if your Windows license is from MSDNAA (academic) because you only get 1 activation which is not renewable. In other words, I'm screwed. (Mac user, just have Windows for testing my web sites in IE, and no I will NEVER pay to get a copy of M$ Windows)
Well we don't do desktop replacements at my company, but we have several beastly machines running linux with VMWare ESX 3.0 with around 8-10 VMs at once on each (linux in each VM aswell). This provides us with our different test and production environments, clustering, backups if one goes down, etc. They work wonderfully.
Though I am not a part of our infrastructure team so I don't know too much more about what we do with them.
I'm an intern at a software development firm and when looking for another intern, my employer asked me to look the person up on Facebook - so this is a very real issue.
But I did not know the person, nor did anyone I knew, so it had no effect on the hiring of them.
Seems to me like he is discriminating against Direct TV personel. Could I create a website that says no "blacks" can enter? NO! Could I be sued if I did? YES! He should not be able to create a website saying no Direct TV personel and they have every right to counter-sue in my opinion.
Wait a second - if we make light go faster than the "speed of light", then doesn't that just mean we miscalculated something!? If I can run faster than I can run, its because I thought I was slower than I actually am.
Seems to me that inside of a speed for light, its just variable speed and we have calculated its speed in a normal situation and labeled it the speed of light.
I used to wear a nice Armitron watch that I bought at Kohls, however when the battery died I started just look at my cell phone's time and haven't yet gone back to buy a battery. The watch died about a year ago.
So what happens when the entire Earth is taken up by greedy dead people's land? Seriously this should not be legal it just takes up unused land. Also - as someone previously mentioned - tax evation. And he wants to do it so he can be the richest man on Earth?! What ever happened to enjoying life with your loving family and dying a peaceful death to go to Heaven? Mr. Pizer doesn't sound like he would be a/.er so I'm sure he has a family - especially if he has money with all of the money hungry women.
I hope he is married and when he dies his wife takes him to court (because if he can be considered alive later why not sue him in the mean time) and takes all of his money that she deserved via his will.
No VB developers at the company - it is an insurrance company and all the software we write is for internal use only and some external use by agents which are done via Java webapps using struts, java, jstl, jsp, etc. All of our dev machines are using WebLogic for test deployments and for running the servers locally to track down problems but I'm not sure about the production servers - maybe WebSphere or Tomcat or something.
As far as tags go, we use a lot of JSTL and the tags that are missing or tags that wouldn't be there for things specific to our company we just write ourselves.
(At least thats what I've understood from the week that I've been there - just started Monday as a full time (40 hour/week) intern until the end of August)
I would stick with Java - you can deploy on any platform without worry of premature implementations. At the company I work for we use BEA WebLogic with Java web applications and Struts - works quite well.
And then after your DeLorean because bigger than the size of a big room discluding room for cooling, you realize your electric bill just went up by $10,000. I wonder if with the electric caps and everything a city block would be able to power all those supplies. Maybe it takes a city - not sure.

The company should have tested it. Now if MS is only having a couple of defected units thats one thing but if they have a lot of faulty products then they should be responsible for not testing. Though it does seem to stay with their character - not testing - remember Windows ME?
Dupe - from about a year ago...
Whoever said it was inteded to be watched I-VI and not IV-VI+I-III? I'm quite happy I grew up with IV-VI and later saw I-III as they came out.
History To Repeat Itself With PS3?
Maybe.

You must be a Mac guy :) Me too!
I thought that was donated to him from IBM, and he does not use OS X on it.

Personally I'm a big fan of Cinema 4D when it comes to modelling - just my 2 cents though
