"5. Satiric movie scenes...is taken from "Start Trek IV" when Spock and Scotty are on earth and supposed to use a 20th century personal computer. Scotty tried to talk to it as he is used to do on the Enterprise and of course failed. He was then advised to use the mouse, which he did - assuming that it is used as a microphone."
He states that Spock and Scotty attempt to use a 20th century computer, when it was actually Scotty and McCoy (both shown in the accompanying picture).
Just sayin...

"Apparently teenaged boys don't need to practice drawing their nudes when they can just download them off the web."
WTF?
I realize you probably just skimmed the article and didn't actually read it so you could spend more time crafting that witty little "grab-em" phrase above, but the article has NOTHING to do with downloading images from the web and everything about the lack of discipline some art students have because they are using computer graphics software.
Guild Wars instances each area to each player (except towns and communities where you can't carry weapons anyway), making it impossible for cyber thugs to pull these ridiculous stunts.
Actually no we're not.
Sure disaster coverage can bring in viewers, but I can say with confidence-none of the people I work with ever "hope" for a disaster. Ever.
Where I work, we're all huge shuttle/space program geeks, and we're all extremely relieved everything turned out well.
Can this be for real? Every dynamic site on the net could be affected?
Hmmm... Wonder how long it would take to sue everyone?
So much for the Random Alien Fashion Show
The Trademark office took 3 months to tell me there was an error in a logo trademark I submitted. Then another 2 1/2 to tell me that the wording needed to be changed. Now I know why...
Well, geez- a window cover falls off, knocks some tiles off the ship, then a faulty sensor?
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang had a better chance of making it into space than this jalopy!

I learned a long time ago from my Windows NT days before switching to Mac-I'd rather just get work done than spend hours trying to configure something like a sound card or trying to figure out why installing windows NT 4.0 SP_WTF? wiped out my hard drive 27 times in 14 days-what a waste of time.
Welcome to the club...
After I saw the first few episodes of season 1, I quit watching, disgusted, then I caught one of the season 3 episodes and have been hooked ever since, though season 4 is a hit and miss prospect at best.
Yes, I filled out the thing you're required to do to stop the article from being deleted, but it's still in CV.
Even funnier-the guy who threw it into CV further said "well, if it's not copyright violation, it certainly is an example of neologistic vanity" or something similar.
So he threw it into CV, without REALLY thinking it was CV because he didn't like the fact that I used images illustrating the concept? That's what the CV area is for????
Again, I LIKE wikipedia-that's why I put an entry in, because I liked the idea of community contribution, but when someone has the power to serve up your entry for deletion because of personal choice disguised as copyright violation, that's pretty lame.
John
The concept of wikipedia is a good one, but I experienced first hand a flaw in their system of open moderation.
I wrote an article that used images from my own website that I created, and someone registered my entry as possible copyright violation of my own work, even though I clearly stated on the entry that the images were mine!
So my entry has lingered in CV limbo awaiting judgement.
Laughable at best...

Once you make your choice (I'm a mac guy too, but I opted to build a cheap PC for game level design), get the Emu8086 simulation software that lets you test out x86 assemly code within a protected graphical environment.
Awesome piece of code to learn and experiment with:
I think you misread my post. I'm saying that 2 gig is ENOUGH for what I do (professional graphics, music and animation), in fact I only have 1.5 gig at work. I'd love to have one of these new imacs to replace my dual 1 gig G4.
So I AM part of the target group for this machine. It's better than the machine I have now!

I'm EASILY cranking on a G4 with "only" 1.5 gigs of ram, doing 3D, motion graphics, animation, flash, photoshop etc. Saying 2 gigs of RAM is a limitation is laughable.

Love to see your website, har har. And besides, my game review is as legit as anyone elses. L8R!

Don't they know the next big ice age is just around the corner and they'll all just freeze to death??? Geez! ;)
Well said!

With the good news out of NASA this morning, everyone has forgotten about the the CCBB! ;)

It's still not too late to bring This Ol' Bird out of retirement...
There was no problem with the logo from my end-they simply needed it in another format is all.
