  1. In a word ... Yes on Should Composting Be Mandatory In US Cities? · · Score: 0

I believe every city in America should make composting/recycling mandatory. We should be attempting to reduce/reuse/recycle as much as possible. It is not too difficult to put cans/glass/plastic in one container, paper in another, and compost-able items in another. Our future (and I'm not just talking about the distant future) will thank us for it.

  2. Irony on Facebook Settles With FTC, Admits Privacy Violations · · Score: 0

  4. The Future of U.S. Space Travel on Ask The Bad Astronomer · · Score: 0

What are your opinions/hopes about the future of U.S. Space travel? Do you think we will have another successful program like the Space Shuttle? Do you think privatization of the space travel industry is the key to America's future space success? As a side question, do you think it was a mistake to discontinue the Space Shuttle missions when we don't have a replacement ready?

Good riddance to bad rubbish ...

Who needs them anyway??? Apple is doing a pretty good job (IMHO) of conforming to the crazy rules of the friggin RIAA and MPAA. The iPod/iTunes DRM is pretty lenient compared to some. If they don't want to buy an iPod, then let them buy a Zune or whatever and see how much they enjoy those devices and associated DRM's.

    I TOTALLY agree with this!!!

The powers that be keep saying that the terrorists have not won, when in fact they have. They have changed the American way of life forever. Not only are we constantly looking over our shoulder for the "bad guys", but we are also, well at least I am, having to make sure that our own government isn't trying to screw us (e.g., warrentless telephone taps, warrentless bank account searches, no coffee/tea/water on airplanes, etc.).

I REALLY hate to admit these things but that's where we stand today. If we don't keep a tab on the govt. then we may all end up with video cameras in our houses and doing exercises in the morning in front of it.

They did an episode of the Simpsons similar to this story.

The school system ran out of money (for what reason I cannot remember), so some "private organization" took over the school and had a new way of teaching. Turns out, this organization was actually a big corporation in sheeps clothing and they were using the children as market research.

Hopefully this will turn out better. ;-)

When is the US going to learn that they are NOT the moral center of the universe?!?!?!?

This is just another example of their Gestapo tactics at policing morality. The powers-that-be even take it upon themselves to arrest American citizens who do things in other countries that ARE NOT illegal in those countries but ARE illegal in the US.

Now ... you may assume that reading this I am from another country but that is not true. I am American born and bred but I am REALLY getting sick of the Puritans running the show.
