People still have to install it and use it, correct? If so, then why do we believe there aren't going to continue to be hundreds of thousands to millions of users out there who don't give a damn, like there currently are? How is this much of an improvement over the current state of things?
But do we see a chunk of the profit that they'll be making off the cancer drugs they make from this data that OUR computers analyzed and then is eventually sold to us for too-high-to-afford prices?
Would you drink alcohol after getting off from a long day at work if your employer kept track of what you did on your off time? Because plenty of people do just that, at employers would love to do the opposite.
I invite you to take a closer look at the history of prohibition. People will do the narcotics they want, regardless of the legality of their actions. At the least, you can collect some taxes from it and stop drug runners from making all the cash do, having people get hurt from tainted drugs, and cutting out the violence from the drug trade. All of the above happened when prohibition ended. It did nothing except put money in the hands of criminals.

When you create a product you get to decide if someone is going to exclusively sell it, that's the way it works. No one is forcing you to buy the iPhone. Yeah, it's a create phone, but other phones get the job done just fine.
