I've never had problems with my OpenID account. I use it for every site that I have an account (and allows for OpenID, obviously), and I've never had an issue. What provider are you using?
Hmmmmm, let's see....so many ads, it's hard to read the article, Ubuntu on the list twice, and Fedora 9 listed instead of Fedora 10. How long did it take to come up with this article? 5 minutes?
Well, I don't know if it's unrealistic but I'm sure it's going to be tough. I worked in the IT department and Info Security department for a large company for more than 10 years. About 2 years ago, I resigned to go out on my own. At first, I was so busy I couldn't keep up. This past year, however, has been tough. I still have work here and there but I've put the resume back out there looking for a "real" job. I told myself that I would never work "for the man" again but I have a family to support. I'm still going to do consulting. It's just going to be in the evenings, weekends, and free time.
How many articles like this are we going to read over the next couple of weeks? Seriously! With OOo and Google Docs, they're comparing apples to oranges. They're both very good software, just done a different way. If what I read is true, and OOo is going to start sticking ads in the app, then lots of people will be moving to something else for sure.
I agree completely. The value of those SUV's, after this announcement, have definitely gone south. I don't feel sorry for those owners at all. They've know for years that this time was coming. What's funny and sad, even with high gas prices, I'm still seeing new SUV purchases. What's sad is that most SUV drivers could care less that they are killing the earth.
One of the reasons I really like visiting the smaller, local, coffee shops is that most offer free WIFI. I never just sit there and use the free wireless. I always go through my share of coffee. I just don't understand why Starbucks charges? Another reason I visit the local coffee shops is because they actually have good coffee....Starbucks IS NOT good coffee.
"Jim Zemlin (executive director for the Linux Foundation) gave a talk at LinuxWorld saying that the open source community should stop poking fun at Microsoft."
really??? how about MS stop lying about Linux and stop putting small companies out of business.
i'm no fan of microsoft but if they are really thinking about pulling out of china because of the reasons stated in this article, then more power to them. i'll applaud their social and human rights responsiblity. but since this is microsoft, i questions their real motives......
many, many problems for me. so many so that i didn't want to take the time to attempt to fix them. i just downloaded the ISO and rebuilt the system. after this, there were no issues.
no big deal, really. i gave the "official" upgrade path a try and it didn't work. i was smart enough to backup all my important data before attempting the upgrade.
honestly, i bet stallman could care less what people think of him or his ideas. with stallman, however, he has the knowledge to back what he believes in.
not sure how, but i made my way to their contact list. probably my old boss at work placed me on their list when i was working for him. they're constantly emailing and calling me. i finally answered the phone, one day, and gave the person on the line an ear full about their services. funny....i haven't received and email or phone call in 3 months or so.:-)
yeah, but i bet it'll cost and arm and a leg.......

couldn't have said it any better......:-)
i'm in no way knocking gmail. i actually have an account. i don't use it much but i do have an account. pine, on the other hand, has been my client of choice for, roughly, 5 years.
i disagree with your statement. not only is this a great PR move on their part but now many people will download the book, figure out that they really like it but realize that reading the book in that format is difficult. then, they will purchase the hardcopy.
okay. first of all, linux is not for losers. do i agree with some of his comments? sure. linux does need some work. is openbsd a superior OS to linux? i wouldn't say that because they are designed for two different purposes. but theo needs to tone down the hatred, a bit.....
also, theo, i use linux for the openness. personally, i don't hate microsoft. i could care less about them. i don't even think about them.
Wait a minute!!! Not all of us Americans wanted to go to war. Because of the lies from our worthless government, many Americans thought it was right to go to war. Now that many of those lies have come out, it's a completely different story.
And as for your last statement, "Afterall, only American voices count.", this is why Americans need to get out and vote in November and vote that idiot Bush out of office.
Just please remember, not all Americans agree with the "we're better than the rest of the world" crap coming out of Washington.
"Actually, it sounded smug. Like he just knows that Spielberg won't be able to leave a good thing alone until he ruins it, like most remakes come out to be."
Exactly!
Becasue a species must watch out for themselves first.
I'd personally kill every Dolphin myself if it would save a human life.
You're kidding, right? Or are you really that sick and disgusting?

this country is already in bad enough shape........
and the author thinks windows is ready to run right out of the box? just more ZDNet crap.

why do you say that? is it because of the 2.4 kernel? if so, your comment is not needed. the 2.6 kernel is included if you would rather install that.

I think your last sentence is a very good idea......

Wow! I actually agree with Gartner, for once.......
