This happened to me a little while ago...
I decided to purchase a digi camera and I looked up froogle.com and found this super deal. The camera was supposed to be brand new unopened. So I purchase it and then I get this e-mail telling me to call up and purchase my order. So I call them up and they were like you gotta buy the battery for the camera. I found this a bit strange since the camera is supposed to include a recharger and a battery in the box. So I said no that's ok. He was like how are you going to use the camera without the battery. I said I'll buy it later. Then he says, oh I'll check on the product. Then comes back and says that they don't have the product in stock. I was like ok.
So then I went to a different store and found a camera for a good price. But b4 that I went to read some reviews and this store had bad reviews and seems to do the exact same thing. And apparently there a a bunch of stores that do this. Post super low prices, then u need to call them up to confirm ur order, and then they try to sell u accessories, and if ur not interested, the tell you that the item is out of stock... WTH.. can't ppl be straight up and stop wasting my time.. sheesh..
This was where my original purchase was: amphotoworld.com This was where my next order was gonna be: fotoconnection.com
I am glad that I didn't buy from those scammers...
I ended up buying it from this store Adorama, through Amazon. Now I pretty much buy all my stuff through Amazon. I get free shipping most of the time + they respond to my e-mails very fast + if a package is lost, the re-ship it out in record time.
I personally use Herbert Schildts: "C# a complete reference" for reference. It teaches u how to program in the first half and in the second half it has references to all the libraries.
I find C# pretty straight forward if u know Java.
I love programming in languages that have their own memory management. Worrying about pointers and what not takes away so much time from productivity. For ppl who wanna get hardcore and want control. Yes u can embed Assembly in ur C# code.
Now if only someone makes microcontrollers/dsp's that do their own memory management. That's make my life so much more easier.
Why should some company spend millions of $$ in research to develop a product and then have to have it out in the open so that someone can just make a rip off of their product?
Yeah all these gov's want to go open source because they are saving money, but if you are involved in an open source project that saved them millions of $$ do they give u a tax break? Does open source put food on the table?
Maybe this guy is really ignorant.. or just doesn't surf the net like most ppl.
I've seen a reduction in those online popups.. but an increase in those annoying flash adds in the middle of ur content.
Dude.. advertising mechanism have changed from pop ups to flash ads within content a while ago.. maybe u should keep in touch... no wonder ur loosing business...
oh and if ur talking about those ads that tell me that I won a free trip.. don't worry.. I close them anyway..
once u work in the industry especially once u become a PHB, it becomes harder and harder to know what ur customers want. PHB's have money to burn, while the customers they are targeting don't. A lot of PHB's aren't really tech savvy at all.
so basically what this article is stating is that I cannot change events that have already occured. Keeping in line with that speculation, if I attempt to back to spot X, I will fail to do so because I was never actually there(event did not take place). Thus prooving that time travel is impossible
I have some cassettes that are lying around and I would like convert into MP3's
It would be nice if I could actually listen to this stuff again. I don't mind doing a bunch of editing to actually grab the proper data.
I don't wanna pirate any software, so are there any free tools out there that will enable me to do the editing? If not, anyone know any good tutorial on how to grab the audio data using C++?
we have a VCR at home that we still use and a DVD player. If we need to record some shows that we missed, we use our VCR, if we wanna view rentals, we get DVD's.
Until recorders become cheaper, I doub't thats going to change...
and oh I forgot. What about all those VHS tapes that we have collected over the yrs.. I doubt I'm gonna bother converting those to DVDs anytime soon.:p
Why in the world is a company like NTP even allowed to exist. Why are ppl given patents before even coming up with a product.
I think what NTP has done/is currently doing is very wrong. Why should a company like NTP that just dreams up ideas and does nothing to actually develop them being given patents? They do very little to foster innovation. They do very little to employ people. They pretty much do jack diddly squat.
This is wrong in so many ways. There are 3 other parties that are also responsible for the BS. The patent office that actually gave them the patent (flawed patent system), the corrupt law firm representing the case, and the Judge who ruled on this case and cannot see right from wrong.
122 400 km per hour
or
76 055.8339 miles per hour
thank u google calculator:)
the impact of such a weapon reminds me of those dragonBall episodes.. lol
the best way to speak is with your wallets and ur voice. If eveyone on slashDot sends plextor an e-mail saying that what they are doing is complete BS, and we won't stand for this stuff, we will boycott their stuff and recommend others against purchasing their products they will start to listen.
If every posted article posted gets slashDotted within 5 - 10 mins of it getting posted, u can imagine the number of e-mails that can get sent telling them what u think.
It just takes about 2 mins to write a decent e-mail, do it now and speak up for the little guy.

Why this is a good thing?
Not trying to be flame bait or a troll.. but
Why should some company spend millions of $$ in research to develop a product and then have to have it out in the open so that someone can just make a rip off of their product?

he gets fined + beaten with a stick...
or
he gets fined + strapped to a chair where he is subject to look at all his 56 million e-mails...
Maybe this guy is really ignorant.. or just doesn't surf the net like most ppl.

Jokes aside..
This is getting sadder and sadder. It seems that the American ppl keep on loosing their freedom and right to privacy every time.
It seems that the US be becoming a big brother policed state funded by Greedy Corporations.
Maybe I should patent the art of searching for p0rn or downloading p0rn...
then I can use more than half the internet population for looking at p0rn..
Ok, my bad.. that was in euros..
that means 24 bucks US and 30 Cdn..
I don't wanna be a troll here, but please, there are a dozen other sites that have the same article. Do we have to rely on a site that requires u to log in?3 513866/

I'd rather build a frame myself..
Now all the g33ks who just gradded can get a job paying $10 an hr doing stuff they learned in 2 courses of uni.
Can't complain bout offshoring now.. look at all these tech jobs being created...
