I think it's ridiculous just because something is available, that i have to pay tax on the equipment that allows me to view that content even though i would not use the PC for that purpose. They should just charge for the content on a subscription base or something.
I kind of like the idea that it could recognize and follow a kid around. Especially if it would have a cam. Kids have a tendency to want to wander off and get into trouble when you're not looking for a minute. I realize parents who don't look after their child much anyway perhaps won't check a monitor much either, but maybe the chances of something bad happening to the kid are smaller.
one thing they did not touch on.. if SP1 is taken over in 18 min.. when is there time to install SP2?
You get it for free on cd from Microsoft or your local vendor, and do not, i repeat do NOT connect the machine to the internet before having installed SP2.
Mural

Reading the headline i expected something a little bigger. Pretty cool it's made with post-it notes though.
How funny, my wife just gave me a cool postcard yesterday and on the back it said something about an anti-virus warning service provided by the Dutch government.
Anyway, the website looks pretty good, but it's been around since 2003 and i think it didn't really catch on. They offer email alerts, sms alerts etc.
Make sure you own the work (A lot of our clients had been screwed in the past by this).
It would indeed be nice to make sure you get source files of images and such. This will help a lot when you need to make small changes to the existing website, but you don't want to use the same developer for some reason
True, and if some things need to be done using a different language which the company might not have any expertise in, i'd rather hear them say that honestly and see if we can sort it out anyway, instead of them trying to change my requirements for the site to 'fit' it into whatever they know how to build.
When i moved into a temporary place one of the downsides was that the phone system was hooked up to a hotel type phone system and outgoing calls are very expensive. Dial-up is out of the question. (A)DSL is not allowed on their connection and no option for a cable subscription either. There are no WIFI providers. That is, not commercially. Being on the 6th floor i am able to pick up several networks in my neighborhood and surf for free. (i ssh into a remote machine of mine that's on a 4mbit cable connection and do all my surfing/downloading/whatever there so i use very little bandwidth on the wifi)
I wouldn't mind paying for my connection, but there's just nothing available for me right now, so as a last resort i'm very happy with these 'free' networks.
The testimonials list only has a few companies/organisations named, but they say they have 4,000 corporate-class clients. I sure hope Arkeia will notify their customers of this 'extra' product feature.
Same for MSX games, although the games broadcast on radio always sucked egg.
There was a button on the tape player to mute the sound so you wouldn't have to listen to the noise, but i liked to hear it. At some point you'd be able to recognize when a game was almost done loading just by listening to the noise/bleeps. Just like when you use a dial-up connection you will recognize the sound.
I was looking for a Client-Server backup system that could offer me the possibility of backing up Unix/Linux and NT Servers on a single tape system.
After long research my choice went to the Arkeia solution, because it has all the benefits I needed. Since then, it runs like a black box, without any need of additional Service.

The backup system running like a black box might not be a good thing here eh?
Couldn't you just listen to a bunch of radio stations and note down the names of artists you like? With internet radio broadcast it is very easy to listen to various types of music and figure out what you like
Google is quite easy to use indeed, but i was actually kind of disappointed with Gmail when i finally got to use it a bit the other day.
I was trying to delete the email i had opened and i found the move to trash dropdown list thingie a lot less intuitive than a straightforward delete button (or just a clickable word 'delete').
When i tell people i'm from the Netherlands they always want to know if i'm close to Amsterdam. And my answer is always yes.
For Dutch standards i'm far away from Amsterdam, but for most people in the world pretty much everybody in the Netherlands lives close to Amsterdam, since it only takes 2 to 3 hours to drive across the country.
I just recently replaced my (3-year) old Geforce 2 MX for a Geforce 6800LE. I got to unlock the pipelines and an extra vertex shader and i run it at stock speeds. Most recent games work pretty well on high detail setting and resolution up to 1280x1024.
I'm sure a SLI setup would give me even more frames per second, but i doubt i would have use for it. If you like to show off your 3DMark scores though, go ahead, you're gonna score better.
In a couple of years my card will be 'old' of course, and i will have to put detail on 'low' again for the latest and greatest FPS, but i will probably upgrade the whole machine by that time anyway, over time you get more performance for your money usually so i'll be getting a better thing than SLI by then.
Stonehenge is one of those things i always like to see on discovery channel shows. I think it's fascinating that it's hard to figure out what's the deal exactly. I wonder if this will happen with anything of our age in like 5000 years.

The games i play on my computer have nothing to do with TV that BBC broadcasts.

No really, they have class utilities for free, thanks Sysinternals

I also thought nobody ever clicks on these ads either, but i must admit i've even done it myself.
Read up and find out online ads can (still) be big business.

Most warez groups also make sure that their releases are 100% virus free, or they will get nuked off the scene.

Lecturers encourage students to joke about arts students, and humilaite them whenever possible.
What university did you go to?

"The bottom line is that people are always going to find a way to get around the system...
True that. I can hear it, i can copy it. I can see it, i can copy it. It takes one person to copy it, millions can get it. Period.
Oh man, you posted and now you can't mod!
Hold on, let me mod it down for you.
I like this javascript color mixer ColorMixers
You can browse some of the presets or make your own set of colors, quite useful.
