I hate false floors ;) I prefer the "false ceiling" -- those foam ceiling tiles that can be suspended from the rafters. A lot less expensive, easier to install, hides annoying infrastructure, dampens noise, and (IMO) easier to access than a false floor (getting up on a ladder and mucking with cables is better on my back than kneeling and trying to access stuff in a false floor).

    1) To achieve ownership, they only need 50.1% of the outstanding shares. 2) At 10% they can get at least one board member and an inside look at everything from the books to next years release plans. 3) Dumping even 5% of the stock could cause the stock to plummet. Ubi now needs cash reserves to cover this. At best, with 20% ownership, they can disrupt the company from within. At worst, they could use 20% as leverage to a takeover. For instance, they can start a proxy fight and only need to swing 30.2% of the vote (19.9 + 30.2 == 50.1).

Free is not a good idea. Free means something like Diablo 2, which was static and boring after only a short period of time. Personally, I'd rather see something along the lines of free download plus monthly fees or if I am going to be charged for a CD, give me 3 months free. While I really enjoy (*cough* am addicted to *cough*) WoW, I think 1 month free for a $50 box was a bit much. I also think that if one can only do about 5 hours in an MMORPG, maybe that game genre just isn't for them?

After playing the Open Beta, I was suffering withdrawals when the servers were taken down prior to general release. Because I had beta-residue on my primary computer, I was suffering withdrawals until I finall got the install to complete... I was expecting a Warcraft version of Diablo2...boy, was I ever wrong! Very immersive. Blizzard always impresses me with their world design (just walking around is impressive) and their UI implementation. A couple of annoyances: It would be nice to have a friend channel, or at least to send messages to everyone on the friends list. Mainly because some people play both factions and it would be nice to be able to communicate with all of my friends at once. Along those lines, it would be nice to organize the friends list so that they could be sorted by the person's name ($#Q@!@ what was his/her gnome's character name?). The method for getting onto a new realm server might want to be investigated. I mean, if you constructed three characters on a relatively new realm, and this realm has low lag, and then everyone and their brother's dog's newt starts playing on it; why should those who originally migrated suffer? Especially with a subscription game! At LEAST they segregate by continents now! That was just a mess with Diablo2. Just my $2*E-02, YMMV.
