Well, you mentioned your bra being snapped on slashdot, so while you might not get chased by a bunch of men in white coats, you might just get chased by a bunch of men with yellow "cheetos fingers".....
I've been living in Germany for the past 18 months and I still have to look at the coin to determine the difference between 2 cent and 5 cent coins....and the one cent are small compared to American coins.

It is actually advertising prostitution, if you want to sleep with this lady, she works Saturdays and Wednesdays from 12 pm to 9pm(though it seems you have to get there by 8 to use her) at the "Soapland lovers" place in Tokyo, Taito-ku, 4-21-3(how streets are addressed in Japan) at Chitsuka(I'm not 100% sure on the name).
He seems to think that somehow giving everyone a video camera will solve genocide because it will be all over the news. Um, there was a lot of video of the Rwandan genocide and yet it went on. Ditto for Darfur etc. So I fail to see how more video would actually stop the genocide.
Oh, and the potshot "that the government of the United States chooses to ignore" is complete bullshit. The world
(as am I) is already mad enough at the US for intervening where it should not have, why would the rest of the world be happy if the US went to war because of some video some kid posted on youtube? Futhermore, the US isn't the only one ignoring genocide. While the US is doing nothing in places like Darfur, the EU is doing next to nothing.
The BSharps can put that whole "poisonous" thing behind them and start producing the silly string again!

one's choice of major. I had a hell of a time paying for college and taking on an engineering cirriculum, and to a certain extent I'm glad I did it, but it's not for everyone and the $24k(now down to about $22k a year and half after graduation) in loans sucks and is having a significant impact on when I go to graduate school. Furthermore, money(and an asshole for a father, but that is a different debate) prevented me from attending my top choice school. It was so frustrating to know that you were good enough to attend a certain, rather famous, institution but because you were born into a poor family you cannot go. Meanwhile, some random business student who fails half his classes gets the same amount of aid that I, an engineering student, received. Who is more important to the future of the United States? Ultimately, because of the shitty way I was treated I plan on leaving the US after I get my PhD out of them. The education is a priveledge for the rich mentality really pisses me off.
If you have saved some scratch during your gig as a System Engineer I would recommend going back to school for a year or so to get your masters degree. Most EEs that I know(anecdote alert!) anyway say that pretty much a masters is essential, if not at the very least a career booster. Plus it would get you back in contact with some interesting technology and give you a "fresh start" in the eyes of companies.
I wouldn't exactly call it a trouncing. according to this article by years end the DS(all versions) should sold about 8.3 million units, the PSP 6.5 million. Now granted that number is 80% of the DS number so they aren't leading(in console units sold), however I wouldn't label that a failure.

That's of course not the case, as PS3 supplies have been low.
I dunno, having none all the time is pretty damn consistent:P

You need to think longer term, you can't go from having no industrial base to having a modern economy overnight. After WWII Japan's factories could have been considered sweatshops, long hours, little pay, dangerous conditions etc. but from that sweatshop base they were able to build the 2nd largest economy in the world. Ditto for South Korea, Taiwan, and now even in China factory conditions as well as living conditions are getting much better. Why? Building sweatshops gave people a chance to save a bit of money, not a lot, but enough to invest and start their own businesses. As those businesses grew, along with governments who were actually smart and encouraged savings and reinvestment and their economies grew. As the economies grew, people didn't have to put up with sweatshop labor conditions anymore and they moved up the ladder. Yes, that was the joke. Thank you for explaining my own joke to me :P

I'm aware, they have the same thing here in Germany(gymnasium). It was a joke, relax!
Cervantes Gymnasium. Am I the only one that thought "that must be where the Soul Calibur people go to train."
I sincerely apologize for any pain the above pun may have caused.

the gameplay really sucks anyway, so maybe the game will do more harm to the cause they are trying to promote than good....
At any rate, didn't a parody of a game similiar in mechanics to this appear on the Simpsons like 10 years ago?
buy a DS. 'Nuff said.

Damn, I know the dollar is weak and all, but $5 a quid seems a bit extreme
they could just get a degree the same way "Michael Parker" from Mitnick's first book got one.
Is it wrong to be turned on by that last sentence?
