  4. Re:Does it answer a really important question? on Open Source Game Development · · Score: 5, Insightful

You can make your game opensoure X years later where X years is when you stop making a profit. The reason some of the big dogs don't do this is that they want to resell the game X years in the future in a classics pack. Or rerelease atari 2600 for example. Making a game open source brings more fame to it as more people enjoy mods on your game and your good heart for allowing it to happen, which brings fame to your company. Company fame results in more units sold in the future when you make new games.

  6. Online Gaming is worse than drugs on S. Korea's Stress-Driven Online Gaming Addiction · · Score: 2, Insightful

Once you get a taste of Online gaming you want more, but you need harder and harder stuff to fit your bill or you get bored and aggitatted with the gaming industry. With drugs, you just take more and you get your high. Online gaming is so new that there isn't enough to satisfy a hardcore gamer's addiction, so they turn to things like walking outside which renders more FPS than the best video card. ITs the less than hardcore gamers that give addicts a bad name. They play and play without realizing the game they're can be broken down into imbalances, paper rock scissor decisions, repetitiveness, or level capping. These addicts without vision are the one's at true risk. A regular hardcore gamer just isn't satisfied anymore. Can I get a,"I can't get no satisfaction" from the hardcore gaming crowd?

Sure, you can say modern science came after philosophy, but think back to when they found out about fire. They learned it and disemminated its knowledge to others. They didn't think why the fire was made, but how and what to do with it. I'm only just trying to argue, not quite serious.

  12. Not a memory maker for me on The End of the Original Xbox · · Score: 1, Insightful

Only game I liked on Xbox was Halo 2 because it had good online features. Halo 1 was somewhat fun, but it lacked the depth that an online ladder game has. I guess I look for a lot in a system nowadays, mostly online multiplayer ladder, or massive multiplayer. I for one won't be looking back at the Xbox as nostalgic as Nintendo or Atari 2600. There were better games on PS2 or on the PC during the Xbox era for me to give it a crown in my memories.
