We just connect to the web and use a small code generator to log into our bank.
I used to do that as well, but I switched to GnuCash and HBCI for various reasons: With those webinterfaces, you can just manage the money on one Girokonto (I think "checking account" would be similar, but no the same) at a time. GnuCash can manage all your finances, creating nice report and statistics where your money resides, where it omes from, and where it goes. Syncing your bank account with the software on your PC is just one small part of the puzzle, I enjoy managing my personal finances with an advanced software like GnuCash. Check here for a tour of GnuCash features.
Why should there be an additional fee? Most banks here (germany) do those transactions ("Überweisung") for free if you enter them either via internet or at a terminal in the bank (you can use it 24/7). If you use the traditional method of filling out a form and posting it at the letter box, you have to pay a fee.
What does this online billing service do? And what does Intuit has to do with it? I'm using GnuCash, and I can do online bank transfers quite fine. I don't see anyone else except me and my bank is involved in transfering money? I already noticed that things like those account-to-account transfers are not common in the US, where paper checks are still widely used - they are almost dead here in germany, and we got HBCI for syncing GnuCash with our bank account. No need for a "financial software corp" to engage in my bank correspondence.
"Bangalore, we have a problem..." - "Please describe your problem." - "We are leaking oxygen" - "Try restarting your landing computer" (Yes, I know this mission is not manned)
What does the dog need that RFID tag for? I'd understand the use of some kind of transponder system (WLAN, GPRS, UMTS...) for real data communication, either with a central (map) server, or even other robotic dogs in the surrounding, but I don't see the need for a short range identification tag.
IANAP (I am not a physicist) but this sounds really strange. I mean, it's a sticker.
No, it's just bullshit. It sounds like something they try to sell old people on a "Kaffefahrt" (There is no english term for it), a free afternoon trip where goods are sold to the passengers. Magnetic anti-rheumatism devices etc.
Right before Y2K, there was a worm/virus/whatever called Happy99.exe. If you secured your wine installation prior execution, you could watch the pretty fireworks it produced without harming your installation.
I know there's no totally-impartial, non-profit-driven corporation or entity that can do this job well,
Actually, DeNIC is a non-profit organization (http://www.denic.de/en/denic/index.html), and they manage 8336375.de-Domains at the moment (http://www.denic.de/en/domains/statistiken/index. html)
As you can see here, DeNIC is an organization that does not aim for profit:
"In Deutschland ist es die DENIC, die diese Aufgabe als "designated administrator" im Sinne des RFC1591 übernommen hat. Sie erfüllt sie ohne Gewinnerzielungsabsicht zum Nutzen und Wohle der gesamten deutschen Internet Community, neutral und unabhängig, fachkundig und verantwortungsbewusst, diskriminierungsfrei und in Übereinstimmung mit den international anerkannten Standards für den Betrieb einer Domain-Registrierungsstelle."
This roughly translates to
"In germany, DeNic took this duty as 'designated administrator' according to RFC1591. It achieves its duty without any aim for financial profits, but for the benefit of the hole internet community, neutrally and independently, competently and responsibly, withouth discrimination and in accordance to international standards for domain registration services."
That's why you have all the stuff you need to patch it on a floppy/CD/flash drive, and don't have it connected to the internet right away. Common sense. Okay, maybe not common sense to most people.
No, that's why i don't have that windows stuff on my computers. Common sense. Okay, maybe not common sense to most people.;-)
For some time now, linux drivers for the ipw2200 and older ipw2200 wlan chipsets have been usable. ipw2200 is now moving towards 1.0, beginning with a feature freeze.
OK, I consider this "Using an enemy uniform", even if the enemy is still wearing it:-)
I have no problem with this kind of infiltration, but trickjumping just kills the gameplay.
Yes, because some days MP3 (8 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, AAC (8 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Music Store, M4A, M4B, M4P), Audible (formats 2, 3, and 4) and WAV ain't enough.
Yeah, I acknowledge the skill of those who can, but I hate it, it really kills the gameplay if someone jumps up the beach at battery, or jumps over the wall in oasis, or enters the fueldump without a covert ops. I don't think that this is the way the map is meant to be played.
Not that ET itself is outdated, of course; it's still as addictive and as ass-kickin' as ever.
Agreed, IMHO ET is far more interesting than counterstrike: I like the complex missions, the different classes, and how you earn new capabilities (Akimbo colts anyone?). I hope that there will be an successor to that, free or not.
I prefer True Combat: ELite (http://truecombat.com/intro.php), which is a counter-terrorism mod for ET. It's quite realistic, you have to aim using the iron sights of your gun, it's a rather sneaky gameplay compared to the bunny-hopping-rocket-fireing-grenade jumping gameplay of ETF.
TC:E is still only available as a test version, but be sure to give it a try.
Just use xqf (http://www.linuxgames.com/xqf/). It's a really nice and comfortable game browser for a lot of (really a lot of) games, enabling you to browse the serverlist, filter it by custom criteria, look for friends playing. I can't game without it, since most in-game server browsers simply suck. Give it a try.

GnuCash can do this fine, I do it all the time, check http://openhbci.sourceforge.net/ , of course your bank has to support it.

You are right, (e)links is much better! :-)
(Also support mouse control through SSH with PuTTY)

and the main character finds out the other woman who has been lost in time with her was actually herself attempting to break the loop?
Err, Janeway?I know there's no totally-impartial, non-profit-driven corporation or entity that can do this job well,

But consider this: These competition between distrustful countries brought us into space and to the moon.

I doubt that there are Centrino notebooks out there powered by AMD64 processors.
There are already drivers, check http://ipw2100.sf.net/ and http://ipw2200.sf.net/

Where is OGG vorbis, you insensitive clod!
