    Exactly; what would be nice to see is a count of the number of servers purchased, so people could get and idea of how much of their hard earned money is going for software licenses.

    I think this one needs a caption, something like: "Leaving a trail of crap wherever we go". The boy reaching for the stars is an ominous portent of things to come if we ever achieve a means of intersteller travel.

    What kind of ranges can you get with wireless? I doubt the bandwidth is as high, but it does seem like a reasonable city-wide solution. Assuming WiMAX gets out the door, I wonder how much money it would cost to cover an average sized city?

    I thought for sure AOL was going to offer something like this after they purchased Netscape a long time ago. Imagine if Joe user's pc is mangled; the ISP rep says "insert the recover CD into your machine and reboot" which is some kind of live distro that lets the ISP guy log into the machine remotely (no matter how mangled the OS may be) and fix the machine or even possibly restore the OS back to the default.

    Using an SO would be a bad idea; if you ever break up just think about how dumb you would feel if you ever find another significant other (sort of like an online version of the embarassing tattoo). Better to pick a cute puppy or something like that instead.

    I knew a non-evil use for the goatse image would be found eventually. I might as well use that image, since it is burned into my brain forever anyway. Plus it has the added advantage of punishing shoulder surfers.

    According to this site I type about 72 words per minute. I can't wait to get one of these and start typing 144 wpm! I am kind of worried about blisters on my fingers; I wonder if they include a free box of bandaids with these keyboards?

    In fact, once all the sarcastically deficient have been identified, we will need to lobby to get the sarcastic brain chunk added to the list of donor organs so that everyone can have the opportunity to lead a normal sarcastic life. Be an organ donor, only you can give the gift of sarcasm.

    Even in a "third world" country I visited recently, they had emails dated 1997, stored on a Slackware box!

    Trust me, people in third world countries aren't the only ones with 8 year old email messages. Though maybe I can use that info to tease some of my users so they will clean up their mailboxes the next time they whine about how long it takes for their mail client to start up. Then again these are the same users who freak out when I go to empty their trash; apparently some of them store messages they care about in there.

    I guess labelling this as a feature would be difficult, since finding employees willing to beta test would be no small task. Then again, with the trends in outsourcing, maybe even this wouldn't be a problem.

    If the Microsoft team gets to pick which questions are answered, I doubt this will be akin to Achilles waving his naked foot right under Paris' nose, since questions like, "Why is Microsoft's security better than Linux security?" are more likely to get answered than questions like, "When did Microsoft hire a team of security gurus?"

    They should have packed a trunk monkey on the rover. Even if he could only hold his breath for 30 seconds, he would have plenty of time to pull the rover out and still be able to squeegie the solar panels clean.

    I keep reading SCO articles hoping to find out when the firesale starts. Every now and then I look on the "History of the SCO group" page on their website and skim past all the lawsuit entires but there is still no "Going out of business firesale" entry yet.
