Also, here in the UK, they seem to have started 'turning the volume up' on adverts to really grab your attention. That, the way they treat you as mindless consumers and the whole bullshit science of 'health food' and 'beauty' products make me really appreciate my DVR.

They do that here in the US too. I have yet to figure out what they are thinking? Do they honestly believe we'll pay more attention just because it's louder? All it means is that I either hit the mute button (if I'm watching live) or fast-forward on something I've recorded.

Personally I rate DVR right up there with sliced bread. I can't imagine a world without it anymore. I rarely watch anything live anymore. The morning news is about it.

Most of the stability problems with the 360 are due to rushing it out a year ahead of Sony and Nintendo.. The 360 has a massively higher failure rate than either of the other competing consoles. Sony and Nintendo waited longer, and had better quality control / testing procedures in place to ensure their consoles were fit for market from the get go.

So as with Vista, Microsoft used consumers as their beta testers for the 360.

Stuff like this really makes me with that more companies took the Blizzard "It's ready when it's ready" approach. I'd rather wait longer for a decent product than have the crappy one now.

Not exactly true. Sure they have sponsored links, but other than that it is a cold search engine (and honestly who ever clicks on the sponsored links?). But returning the results their customers are looking for is the goal of any search engine.

And in either case, content filtering isn't Google's job. That job belongs to the kid's parents. Content shouldn't be filtered for the masses just because parents can't be bother to pay attention to what their kid is doing.

Strange, because the last time I was in a record store (a few years ago, honestly) the price tag was only about 14 bucks.

Let's see the math on this.....

They say a CD is worth $1,500,000 and you can get it for $14. (First of all you are apparently getting one hell of a deal at the store)

So they are assuming that you are going to make/distribute 107,142.86 copies of that CD? Is that really the math they are trying to use to justify this? Or are they assuming you will make/distribute 100,000 copies at an average price of $15 per CD?

Either way is ridiculous. Maybe their CD sales wouldn't be falling if they would sign some decent music talent. Stop making CDs of crappy American Idol winners and actually have some standards for the music.

Oh and how about some realistic pricing. I could see paying over $10 for a CD back in the day when CDs actually cost more than 5 cents. But these days I can get CDs for pennies. And digital downloads don't even have that expense. You should be paying based on the amount of data you are downloading, not a "per song" fee.
