Every large company in my city (Cincinnati) uises.NET heavily. Some of them are using VB, but they are almost exclusively using.NET. The amount of money and inertia to change that is so high that I don't see how OP's assertion could be correct. Big companies like Microsoft. And that's okay.
Android is not a mess. As usual, you get what you pay for. There are many really high quality choices from 4 or 5 manufacturers. That's a great place to be in. It breeds competition and so the hardware will get better. This is the same debate we have been having for year in the PC space. When you try to compare a free or $99 device with one that costs $700, your not comparing apples to apples.
I tried to watch Community on their TV service but even when logged in, it didn't keep track of what I had seen (it tried but was never correct) and rarely displayed the next episode when I finished one. It would auto play an episode 3 or 4 away from where I was in the show. The steam itself was okay once it got started, but if I paused the playback, upon resume the CC would have to be manually turned off. It's a hot mess and I don't see how they could continue with it.
I guess my point is that I agree with their decision to "reduce availability" of Yahoo TV.
This is my issue with OP's comment. Any time I hear someone say, "Kids these days" or "People are more selfish than they used to be" I cringe a little. People have been horrible to each other all along. We should be vigilant of cheaters; but implying that cheating wasn't rampant in the past is shortsighted at best.
Apple will sell a ton of anything at this point. I think the real issue is that tablets fall into the chicken/egg situation. With the iPhone, even non apple people wanted a phone that could do all of that.
I too only have a Wii but my brother owns both a PS3 and a 360. I can say that games look a ton better on the PS3. My complaint there has always been the buy in price but that starts to stray from the topic.
Thats a really good point. If the market can find more uses like that, it shall succeed. I currently have an HP tablet that I really love... but never use in tablet mode.
I'm not sure that I agree with you. While I do not have any experience with th Zune, (but have heard great things about Marketplace)the X-Box 360 is NOT a quality product. It has a failure rate above every console ever released, the max graphical capability is above the Wii but well below the PS3, and it's online play costs the consumer money.
AO does NOT mean that the game cannot be released. It means that most retailers will not sell it in the store. This kills the profit of the game if it can only be sold in porn shops and mom and pop's who wish to seel it.
Also, and I may not be 100% correct here but, I think that I read that neither Sony nor Nintendo will allow an AO game on their platform.
I am afraid that there isn't much that can be done to make library's functional to today's youth. Making some sort of GUI to make finding books easier won't help. Most of the time (as far as I have seen) the kids just give a note to the librarian at the counter and the book magically appears on the counter a few minutes later. Most people are not getting their own books anymore and therefore don't need anything to look up their locations.
Although I dont own a PS3, (mostly because I havent spent the time to budget for one) I thought the PS3 was going to do well even with the price point... until I saw the current crop of games.
As a side point, I too thought mini-disc was going to rise up and kill the CD. My wife still wont let that go.
While I agree that the school is acting outside of there bounds, why is it that people are still so obsessed with posting there "party" pictures on the web?!? Does anyone really care? If all of this says anything to me it's this. Now that the web is made up of "user generated content" it is staring to feel a little too much like MTV. Does anyone remember when the internet and computers where un-cool and we spent all of our time talking about why Picard could kick Kirks ass?
I hear about Linux and many of the popular versions. I have tried a few and cant seem to even get the stable ones to do what i want them to do. It's not just non computer types that have a hard time switching. I use and understand both Windows and OSX 10 but Linux has eluded me for some time. I want to switch. I just cant seem to.
This is sort of OT but when i worked at radioshack, this guy was complaining about his keyboard on his laptop not working properly. After looking at the unit I realized that the customer had been hiding a thin layer of pot under the keys... I didn't "inform the authorities," but I did have a long conversation with the guy about where he should hide the pot.
say that PS3 will be end of Sony but im sure it will not be. all you have to do is go onto a few of PS3 message boards to see that millions are lining up to own one. This guy may or may not help, but even with all of the bad press of late, the PS3 will still be a success.
sorry for being so late to the party but... I know more than a few people who still dont know that there is another option besides Windows or MAC. If they dont even know... they can't use it.
To me anyway, that the formats are not doing that well. I watched a movie in blu-ray on a HD 60ish in screen. (I dont know all of the specifics, sorry) The room had surround sound too but i didnt notice a huge difference. I really dont think that DVD to HD DVD/Blu-ray are as big a step as VHS to DVD.
Like i said. I dont think either format has a chance and this is just the start of the formats begging ANYONE to buy.

2009 was the year of the netbook, 2010 will be the year of the tablet. The problem is, tablets are so niche... and the normal consumer doesn't know.

Now see, THATS MORE LIKE IT! uhhh. Picard would like, totally win?

Sorry to go OT, but are you on the saltwaterfish.com message board? Whats your screen name? Id love to get a look at that tank.
I was thinking the same thing. mabey they have DVD-R and DVD+R confused with DVD-R and DVD-RW?
I think your liky is dead.

allegiance to the flag of the communist MPAA.
i may end up doing just that. my guess is that by years end, ill have something non-Ipod new. Im just want to research a little more before deciding.
