Panasonic Toughbooks are pretty hard to beat(literally). Had a CF-29 for a long time now and droped, wet, etc.. no problem. CF-30 I think is current model.
Why do asshats like this (OMG ! he just called Steve "god" Jobs an asshat!!)get to choose what I do with a device, or if I decide to upgrade, change, modify etc.. Simple-->because WE let them. This world has gone crazy. We need to just stop buying from anyone who implements any kind of DRM or makes any restrictions on how you use a device. This is like saying I can't repaint my car blue because Chevy doesn't have a partner program with the paint shop I want to use.
Well, I also run OSX 10.6.2 and Ubuntu 9.10, and I have a box with Centos 5 serving up a few things but the main problem for me is the old AOL, "me too" mentality. All my friends, family, and most of my coworkers are die hard Windows users. I try and mention things like this and I get the Mac FAN BOY stigmata. I don't understand how it came this. Just mentioning something else and your a fan boy. Oh well, I guess I'm just lucky I was sick the day they gave out the free kool-aid and stayed home.
Why does this sound so familiar? Customers are considered thieves as a general rule? Oh thats right, RIAA Playbook and guideline for the Music industry, page 2, "How to treat Customers". Now,if there is a malfunction, we, the consumers, will be forced to take measures to prove to Microsoft that our systems are genuine? Give me a break. The sad thing is 99% of the general public will never hear about this until some server glitch causes their system to stop functioning normally and they have to call Microsoft(and how many will have to bungle through M$ofts cludge of a tech support center and pay for support for fixing Msofts problem). Call me skeptical as we know M$oft has a perfect track record of bug free software and nothing like that could ever happen. More to the point is the nerve of them for expecting consumers to put up with them probing our systems.
PSN being free weighed heavily on my buying decision. If Sony wants to start charging for it fine, I'll take my refund now Sony. You sold it to me based on a free PSN- If it's not, give me my money back. Ohh and give me back my money for all the games I have purchased. I'll play my Wii more now. Thanks
The Problem is, M$oft brought out win7 beta to shut up all the people that were having a disaster with Vista. Now that the "free" upgrade is over, all those people are stuck with buying Win7. What happened to fixing Vista. I am talking about giving the people who bought it a truly bug free experience. Since all the (misguided) hype over Win7, Vista is forgotten and , yet again, M$oft gets away with producing Garbage and sticking the people who paid for it. Are they just expected to forget the $100's they spent on it and spend yet more on Win7 now that they have no other way to actually use the pile of crap computer they bought with Vista?
Someone should really tell the sientists those little cities and trains they were comparing to were old Godzilla movie sets. The real ones are much bigger and they'd need a hella lot more mold!

THEY (the school authorities involved) should be charged and it should be dam serious enough to make them think about throwing a families life into disarray the next time. What is being conveyed is that you can expect what is normal. Privacy used to be normal so you were entitled to a reasonable amount of privacy. Now that is no longer the case because so many are willing to sacrifice their privacy it means you have no reason to expect them to hold your data private. Blame the clowns that tweet or update thier pages everytime they walk into another room or sneeze for this.
Best Buy is a great place to buy music CD's and (if the price is even remotely competitive) a TV. Best Buy is NOT a place to buy computers. When purchasing from Best Buy you will NOT be told the truth, You will be told whatever the manager has decided the truth will be today as it affects the inventory that needs to move (If you know enough about them, buy online and get exactly what you want for a cheaper price. If you don't know enough, find someone who does and have them help you. If your even reading this, you know more than anyone working at Best Buy(selling Computers) anyway.
