I'm sure they just didn't know how to run 3dmark- Everyone knows Best Buy has the real experts! Even better than Apple Geniuses I hear... Ho Hum- And to think, I actually went to school to get a degree in this stuff, What a waste of time.
This wasnt a controlled sientific test anyhoo, and for that matter how could you do one? Variables like solar angle, temperature, day of the year and minute of the day(solar cycle stuff), air traffic, ground traffic(was there a truck and trailer 2 blocks away between you and the cell site causing phase distortion?) was there a kid walking down the street playing a DS that he dropped and is now emitting a harmonic that is close to the fundamental frequency? How tall was the guy holding the phone? How much did he weigh? Was his body in contact with the phone or was he wearing gloves or a holster? Which hip was it on, which way was he facing? LOL were the windows on the building across the street dirty and was the air moist enough to put moisture on the dirt causing reflectivity? Was he barefoot and walking in a park where a dog peed 2 hours ago thereby making the ground he was standing on more conductive(a better ground)?
LOL these are all things that affect that tiny RF signal in some small way. I'll just leave it at-- I use Tmo and in Los Angeles, it works great. Thats all I care about. Oh and I don't have to keep swatting that dam map outa my way.:)
And maybe, someone will figure out a whole new technology where you just open your mouth and words come out and they only have to be in the room to download what you sent to them. Maybe they could even figure out how to do that with wires and maybe some kind of thing that goes on your ears and maybe in front of your mouth. No more typing at all ever..That would be really cool.
Hey you added in a couple extra words by mistake.--
I work at DirecTV's call center handling all types of calls (Mainbank, CIS, CRG, and Tier 1 Tech). . --There, fixed that for you
I think (hope) it will be far more than a million dollars.
I'm hoping more along the lines of 25 million. We are talking fraud, deceptive marketing practices, strong arming, and falsifying documents here. Big Charges!
Your actually quite wrong on that whole line of thinking.
I work for a fairly large (30,000 employee +) corporation and internally it is a constant watch to make sure we are actually doing "the right thing" in every aspect of the business. Both legally, and ethically.
THANK YOU... FINALLY SOMEONE CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE THIEVES AT DIRECT TV
I've been ripped off by these guys and I read every single thing I could over and over like 10 times and they still managed to trick me into $30.00 a month more than I was told I had signed up for.
Then theres the box you buy to not own. Like a leased car, you pay around $200.00 to $250.00 for the privilege of renting the thing but they still own it, and charge you a monthly fee to rent it. F@#$king thieves!!
Class Action? Sign me up right here. I don't even care if the lawyers get all the money on this one, as long as it costs Direct TV a bankroll, then I'm happy here.
Agreed. Big thanks to Cyanogen, Anubis, Jesus Freak, and all the other guys over at XDA. My phone wouldn't be worth squat without nandroid, recovery boot, tether, apps2sd, arm, root, etc
I started as a service tech (degreed engineer however). Over the years advanced to engineer and technical lead then on to operations manager. I lasted 6 months as management. I am now an electrical engineer for another firm. I couldn't handle not being in the technical role.
I'm surprised theres not a lot of chatter about it. Boxee does Netflix, Internet TV , and DVD's very well. I havent tried my eyetv with it yet so can't say about the over the air tv but eyetv handles that so well,/i don't mind switching between them.
I was union. at that time, we were a pool of on call individuals and we were paid handsomely IF we took the call. There was a list based on who had the most overtime. That system worked well. the people who wanted the overtime got it. I am now exempt. there is a pool of 25 of us. We each take a week in turn being on call carrying a call out cell phone and pager with no extra pay but at least you know not to plan an out of town trip for that week. The payoff? I get six figures for my 40 hour work week + 1 week of on call a year. I am very happy with that and I knew that going in. If you don't know that going in, that is a problem... yours if you want to keep your job.
I don't understand it. The internet was here long before the DVD. Why doesn't someone tell the jerkoffs in the Movie industry simply if they don't like it, go back to selling tickets to theaters. Just because they made something that is compatible, why should the original transport have to change to accommodate them? Typical elitist attitude of Sony and co... Now about the RIAA and the Music bafoons....
This would be the same as telling me I can't put a Chevy LS6 motor in my 34 Ford Coupe. The motor by itself does nothing but put it in a car and its the heart of it. Same thing here. I'm not going to sell the car as a chevy. Whats the problem?
Apple need to get a clue, as well as the rest of this $#%#'d up industry. This is the only time I can remember when it was an honor, or privilege, to be able to buy or use products from certain vendors. Apple, M$oft, Verizon, ATT, Direct TV, all come to mind. If you don't use their products EXACTLY how they say, shame on you! I guess I should start worrying about Levi as I cut up an old pair of jeans and use the rags in the garage.
Umm, yes there is a DHS group... But, unlike you, I have actually been to it.. It is actually a Red Team, a Blue Team, and a White Team. They are not using real world scenarios. Enough said about that. I am also an Electrical Engineer working with control systems in the utility industry and can say you guys read a lot but have little knowledge of the actual systems. NERC-CIP might be some good late night reading for you. This is exactly the same as any other internet conversation. The guy with the most people chiming in "me too" is right, regardless of the truth. The Grid is a whole lot safer than you think, at least from a control systems point of view. It is definitely open to physical attacks, but even then, without intimate knowledge of the topology, you would not be taking down the grid, just merely causing a localized inconvenience.
well, first of all dumass, the 32A has that limit, the 32B is actually lower. The amount of available memory is irrelevant as the size of the average app is what, 128k ?
lolz
Well, I don't even think about it anyway as I have app2sd which now gives me... hmm lets see... 16gb... ok iPhone, try that.
I have to admit, I have an iPhone, and I have had a G1, recently lost at an airport... yeah sure, they turned it in, and for the last month, a G2, Mytouch3G tmobile.
The Mytouch actually does considerably more than the iphone, and I enjoy using it that much more. I dont give a rats ass what Leo "paid for by apple" Laporte has to sy about it, The Android phone wins, hands down.
I can scan business cards right into my address book, google maps, NON DRM (thats enough by itself to switch) music, it plays more video formats, yada yada yada... I like it, nuff said.... Oh, did I forget to mention the microsdhc slot? I can add what I want, memory wise....
I'm sure they just didn't know how to run 3dmark- Everyone knows Best Buy has the real experts! Even better than Apple Geniuses I hear... Ho Hum- And to think, I actually went to school to get a degree in this stuff, What a waste of time.
Lets see em make an app to fix this!
Because it is slower than running it natively and it uses more resources. I've tried it and can testify, it isn't a very good way of doing it.
Well, Id run from than fast anyway. Also if it's not in your agreement, might see a lawyer on them going into your server anyway.
I can see it now in the police blog..."His batteries died and he commited suicide before they could be replaced"

Hehe now thats some funny ass stuff right there. Bad thing is I can see some bonehead using that steering wheel desk!

After all these years hearing the BS about I.E. being so popular.... This is proof, maybe you can fix stupid. People have come around.

It really doesn't matter. Seems like the dumber the m$oft coder, the more people migrate to it. You can't fix stupid.
Simply said, bullshit
