That's completely incorrect. Unlike Office, Microsoft loses money on each console sold. If everyone threw out their old Xbox 360 and bought an xbox 360.5 when the new edition came out, Microsoft would lose obscene amounts of cash with 0 return. If microsoft had it's way, you would only buy one console and share it with like 10 friends who all still bought games. Everyone seems to think microsoft is out to sell Xboxes... they aren't, they just happen to have to sell them in order to charge license fees from developers.

At least you aren't one of those growing minority who is actually blocking pages that function perfectly well in IE just because you can. I ran across a page the other day, which didn't even give me the option of viewing it in IE. I loaded up the source in Firefox, Lo and Behold, they didn't even use CSS, it was just a plain old HTML, but they just decided to make a point. It wasn't censorship it was a tax to help the government fight CHILD pornography. You know that act where small children are molested on camera, abused, exploited by nasty old men.

I'm sure it can be tricky business to weed out who is using underage models and who isn't, especially with children becoming more mature at younger ages, so it makes reasonable sense, that if the government has to spend money reviewing your business, your industry will pay the tab.

As to this somehow reducing children going to XXX sites, I'm not entirely sure how this is supposed to help, but then again thanks to slashdot's "throw it out and see what they say" policy with regarding to editing news stories, I may never know the rationale behind it reducing children visiting XXX sites as well. But even if it doesn't do that, it's not the GOAL of the bill! He just listed it as a possible side effect.

It wasn't that we said we would never fill CDs. we just didn't see it being an issue for a while. As I see it games have really leveled off in size, we saw a pretty exponential growth when the CD came out just because we weren't using ASCII anymore, and we could you know... include real music and stuff. But at this point, I don't see us needing more than 10GB for a game in 3 years. 3 years ago games were on 2 CDs, now they're on 6 at the most. Most games now adays are still around 1.5 gigs, I don't see us all of a sudden needing 10. Not to mention, we can always release 2 DVD games!

This isn't a feature split, this is a free perk later down the road.
