This is yet another example of our freely elected Congressional system being circumvented only by the most powerful (fat pocketed) lobbyist (bribery agent) of the **AA.
I'm not going to spout "Call your Congressional representative" because that dosen't any good. The solution is to register to vote and vote OUT anyone in D.C. that' over 40 years old (or don't own an iPod).
Any Slashdot readers willing to run for public office on the newly made-up 'Open Source Party' ticket? You know the one: Demands the return of personal freedoms, supports the repeal of the DMCA and requires public office to use open standards for public documents?
Oh, sorry. I was in Fantasyland for a second there. I live in the U.S.A.
And I whole heartily encourage all patent and IP lawyers to go to those black holes and ether Subpoena them or deliver a notice of possible infringement. This should solve all lot of problem here on earth as well, if we can get them to all go.

The 100+ pounds you put on while squinting at a screen 12 hours a day, drinking nothing but sugary soda dosen't help... unless you like injecting yourself with insulin two or three times a day.
Been there, done... oh wait, time to inject my insulin.
The question shouldn't be "can we put X chip in the brain and fuse it to Y", we should be looking at finding a way to create an I/O port that's directly fused with Y. Once a generic external I/O is installed, then we can allow Hollywood to tell us what to "plug in" to it. Nobody wants a seperate surgical procedure to add another "feature". Just plug in the feature and download.
I'll probably get modded down to negative territory for mentioning this, but the next time you vote for someone, make sure they're not supporting intellectual property.
And, if they don't know what that is, then they're even more dangerous than the ones that know what IP is because you can just grease their palms with some green and they'll vote for it.
Where's the PC Party? Where's our friends? Where's the people that want to vote to overturn IP patents, the DMCA and to tell the **AA where to shove their litgation?
Those are the people that I want to vote for. Those people represent us. These people are us.
"Copyright holders" don't give a fuck... about anything but themselves.
This is not always the case.
Most artists (filmmakers, musicians, artists in general) don't give a care about how copyright works as long as they get their royalties.
I'm a copyright holder, but I choose to add an additional level of control to my product by adding Creative Commons licencing to my product. Why? I give a shit. I look beyond the restrictive copyright safety blanket and purposely add CC to allow myself to legally manipulate who can use my copyright and how.
I give my stuff away for free. Sure, I still have a legal copyright on it, but I'm the artist so I should get to CHOOSE.
David Bowie was right. In a few years, copyright will not be recognizable as we know it today. Hopefully, it will put more control into the hands of the artists. ^_^
Saying you're getting doublecharged for Cable TV is a misnomer.
When you subscribe to Cable or Satellite service, the money you pay them goes to pay for their infastucture to deliver a service to you.
There's commercials during a program to pay for the channels' existence because they transmit their signal for free. Somebody's got to pay for all those FCC licences.
People who complain that they are getting doublecharged are doublystupid to whine that they are. Would you like some cheese with that?
I sometimes get motion sickness playing WoW. Here's what I found:
When I bump up the resolution to 1920x1080 with quality settings set to max, I get dizzy easily. I guess its the realism factor of getting 70+ FPS in this res.
When I take the resolution down to 1280x1024 and lower the quality to its lowest setting, I don't get sick as much because I can see the pixelation and artifacts that make this picture look lousy.
Try a lower resolution and quality setting in your game, make it actually look bad and see what happens.
If you're a company that respects its employees, rewards them appropriately and values them, do you think internal threats are going to be such a large issue compared to the faceless megaopolies that most American companies have mutated into?
Blizzard, spend your money on infastructure upgrades first. This is a little more important to us, your subscribers of WoW.
Horde still suck.
I wonder how many of those surveyed claim to get trustworthy news from The Onion?
Maybe they should have talked to this guy before writing that review.

The reason they're having so much trouble is because the integration with the AT&T to government monitoring station upgrades are taking too long.
AT&T: Keeping terrorists off WoW!

Anyone else here see A Clockwork Orange?
That would put a nail in the "SCO vs The World" coffin.
This may pose a problem with the 526,000+ people sharing the name Michael Smith.
Yes, we all know Spiderman and the Hulk got into a fight and Chuck Norris won.
We also know that Chuck Norris passed a kidney stone and we now know it as the moon.
STFU
Been there, done... oh wait, time to inject my insulin.
Finally, iTunes would have some competition.
I want to see a truly R-rated Family Guy movie even more than a Simpsons movie. (The Stewie DVD was bleeped; Why?)
"Socially challenged"? You mean WoW players?
A 9MM round into the CPU usually does it.
768 cores. Finally, a box that will run Everquest II.

The FCC needs to be disbanded. They don't even know why they exist anymore.

If I'm getting the service for free, bring on the ads.

You're slipping!
