I still think George Lucas needs to be in a straightjacket, kept away from his own films.

I think what George is trying to say is that with modern technology being so inexpensive, there's no need for spending $200M per film. Just renter it on his (or anyone else's) computers. Okay, this does make some sense.

I've seen zero-budget high-FX films come from people's home computers. Some of these are damn good.

I can see what Georges is trying to say, but I honestly believe him wrong. Big budget movies are here to stay. Sometimes I want to be wowed at the theatre too. LOTR was well worth the $300M budget.

Will theatres be runover with indie flicks? No. But I'd like to see a better balance in the theatres. I'm tired of going to the megaplex and seeing 4 screen showing Gigli.

While Linux eye candy is some of the sweetest in the market, IMHO, it's one of the reasons Linux will never be mainstream.

What we need is a concerted effort from our worldwide developers to create better interoperability with Microsoft's Active Directory structure and better hardware compatibility.

What's also missing is the "zero-user" configurability that Windows has, allowing any user to load and install any application or hardware accessory without needing to be a hardware tech. Linux need to be engineereed to be "smarter" for the casual office user.

Only until we solve the above issues and Linux becomes more mainstream on the corporate desktop should we worry about the eye candy factor.

The idea that Apple would ditch its own OS for Microsoft Windows came to me from Yakov Epstein, a professor of psychology at Rutgers University

I'm happy to hear Dvorak didn't just come up with yet another left-field brain fart prediction. This one would have destroyed what little 1980's reputation he has left.

Sure, Apple can switch to Windows. And they can lose 100% of their market share for PCs in the process. Why the hell would I buy an Apple box when I can get the EXACT same thing from Dell for $299? If Apple really were stupid enough to make this type of move, they'd be killing themselves. OSX is unique and is the reason people buy Apple boxes in the first place.
