    Let's look at this from a filmmaker's perspective.

    I create a movie. I licence it under Creative Commons licensing. I want it to be free to the public.

    Since the "analog hole" will now be closed, does this also mean that whatever I release be DRMed in some way to prevent analog copying?

    I'm releasing my work that I own the copyright to in analog and digital form specifically to be copied, downloaded, recorded and shared. Does this make me, the copyright holder a criminal?

    How long will it be before the creation of [enter type of digital content here] be specifically licenced?

    - something to think about.

    Haven't you noticed Microsoft playing "catch up" to a lot of Google's new services lately?

    Since google came along, it seems Microsoft is becoming less relevant as people stop caring about "operating systems" and caring about actual services.

    Are you suggesting private companies are above any law?

    If an employer tells an employee to murder another person to keep his job, are you suggesting that would be legal? The abolishment for free speech in any private/public situation is still equally illegal.

    IANAL, but I feel that you can't be held to a contract that violates the law.

    "UNNAMEDCOMPANY does not permit unsolicited reviews of its products." is a clear violation of the law. No private/publically held company is higher than the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights to limit my freedom of speech.

    Do any of the Microsoft PR people ever sit down and read statements they've made?

    They know exactly what they're saying. Read thier answer a few more times to search for the common sense. The obfuscation level is so subtle you don't really notice it. That's the sign of VERY smart PR people.

    The same old tired arguements like this tend to reappear in 6 month cycles. "New games suck. No creativity."

    This is not true. There's lots of creativity out there, it's just no one has the balls to release it. Look at GTA:San Andreas. There was plenty of creativity there before they released a recent patch. Then again, I don't know anyone who actually downloaded it...
