This release must be special if Apple change the MacOSX page background to black, instead of following their regular white and candy colour scheme. The list of new features is all the more reason for people, like me (windows users, to migrate to the Mac. I would like to, but the hardware is expensive, even if the OS isn't.
Meet the world's most advanced operating system.
It strikes me as odd that advanced means user-friendly of their description of their updated OS. Sure, it's all streamlined and nice looking for the user, but how is it actually advanced.
BTW, What karma level is below horrible, and how do I get it?
... this release of OSX looks good enough to make me want to buy a mac, alas, I have no money.
It must be extra special if the page background is black aswell >.>

That however strikes me as a little bit odd.. how is it advanced? As in, advanced functions are now user friendly with the 200 new features? I guess I'm just stupid, all the more reason to buy a mac.
You can't expect someone to easily understand the things talked about on the internet. The only way is for them to learn, and to be taught. That is ultimately the best way to protect yourself from malware, viruses, and the like.
It's like wrecking things with large equipment, it looks and seems straightfoward, then you get behind the controls and don't what lever does what.
I went to the site, and it doesn't look as bad as the leetspeek one, so I skimmed through it.
It's nice to see there isn't any obvious bias in the information, and it's pretty straight forward - I can fathom why they'd want to make a page like this, but it wouldn't stop anyone from purchasing that ever-so hip iPod/mini/shuffle/gumstick. However, what irks the hell out of me is the amount of songs that fit on the player is given using music in their proprietary format, wma @ 64kbps. Given that, it is a good way to suck in the novices (are there any left in the world?) and make them look for players that support WMA and such.
last year I had a research assignment based on modifying our dna and transgenics, and it's quite an interesting subject, i won't be so arrogant as to link to that assignment, but I will post links to some of the articles i referred to..
It's illegal to sell alcohol and tobacco products to minors also, it hasn't done very well in stopping anyone. If the kids want it, they'll find someone to get it for them.
Let DC pass their laws, keep the bible folk happy >.>
Yeah, and today felt about 13C, in the middle of summer. It's forecast to go as low as 12C for the next 2 days. It's not horribly low, but its the middle of summer ffs.
Have a happy stay in Melbourne, and for god sakes bring the weather with you!
... but after I RTFA, I quickly had my hopes extinguished. Sure we get fast speeds, but no data transfer to compliment it. 80gb (40gb/40gb off-peak) is good for everyone, but with 20mbit, I'm sure it would take 'no-time' (please don't do the math anyone) to get used to using it up quickly.
Although this is good for driving the prices down, so maybe Optus/Telstra will up the ante and remove the the 128k upstream cap at least...
