Shareaza does it, kinda, but it's basically eDonkey and a couple other things mixed into one. It has a BT client built-in, and you can use eDonkey/Mule/Dingo/Fox to search for the torrent files (usually they were torrents from SuprNova), then run the torrents (don't think there's a way to automatically do it though).

Granted, this was 2.0. 2.1 may be different. I stopped using Shareaza because it felt pretty slow. I suppose a similar way to do this would be to use eMule to download the torrents and then run them in whatever torrent client you use.

I stand corrected. I forgot for a minute that carding for movies and the like was voluntary and not a law.

Jail time is way too harsh for something this trivial. A fine however, I'm more okay with. But I suppose the best would be no law at all.

The positive side I was looking at was it would be an incentive to not sell the games to minors, which would be an incentive for parents to actually look at Little Johnny's activities when he got home whining about not being able to buy Mortal Kombat, and possibly fewer lawsuits on the game companies when bad things happen that everyone blames on the media.

You're right, though. The possibility of criminal charges wouldn't really balance with the positives.

I agree. I used to be one of the types where any kind of restriction like that was a bad thing, but I don't really see this as any different than carding at movie theaters and stores that sell beer and tobacco.

As long as it just keeps a minor from buying a game by himself without a parent, that's fine. Keeps the stores out of trouble (well... part of the time; some parents get mad either way), lets me buy my games, and it encourages parents to see what their kids are playing.

The moment they try to pass legislation banning M games from stores period though, that's when I'll get mad about it.

I was just poking fun at the guy who made the false assumption that the law was a Republican's doing. ;)

And considering Slashdot is an American site, it would make sense that the paragraph was written with Americans in mind. Obviously Earthsea was a miniseries on the Sci-Fi channel, and Ursula Le Guin was involved in it somehow. It follows that maybe Earthsea was a book by LeGuin and Sci-Fi made a bad TV movie out of it.

They didn't want some big movie company telling them what they could and couldn't put in the game. The technology Carmack had come up with was way too impressive to compromise, they thought. I started as a Night Elf, and played a Human, a Tauren, and an Undead on the last night of the beta and when my Night Elf server was down, and though I didn't get into the other races as much as I would have liked (the beta ended about 15 minutes into my Undead), the Night Elves seemed the most satisfying, story-wise.

The Humans just seemed... lacking. Like it was a beginner's area tacked on.

It was the first one out of the few I'd played that really grabbed me. It's the only one I bought and subscribed to immediately when I heard the Beta was closing.

This review is 100% right (I have a few sound issues with dialogue being very quiet, but apart from that it gets a 10). I would say if you liked Diablo 2, with the quests and the semi-speedy leveling process, you'll like this game. And if you like soloing, you'll really like this, because you're not forced to group everywhere, just on harder quests.
