I'm surprised that (at least according to a quick find) you're the only one to mention Noah. Well, maybe the only who wasn't modded into oblivion or otherwise doesn't appear in the default view. He was my first thought.
I figured as much, but nonetheless it had to be pointed out.;)
I agree that it's silly uneven treatment, but I probably think it silly in the opposite way as you (I would say both should be open to ridicule). Heck, if someone's (baggy pants, gold chains, white) or (mullet, (rusted out, maybe?) Camaro, black) they should be mocked. Basically, skin tone shouldn't invoke (or suppress) ridcule, but rather the stupid or socially unacceptable or rejected things the person does. But I'm tired and rambling, so I'll go back to playing my murder simulator video games where I'm learning how to kill anthropomorphic mushrooms. Obviously later tonight this will cause me to go out and rob a convenience store or somesuch. News at 11.
# Moran - Misspelling of moron, referring to a well-known picture of a redneck holding two signs saying "Get a brain! Morans" and "Go USA", in response to anti-war activists protesting the US invasion of Iraq. The image was originally taken at a Boeing plant in Saint Charles, Missouri (a suburb of St. Louis), shortly after the war began in March, 2003.[13]
I am so sick and tired of this crap from our gov't. Spying and invading our privacy, fees and taxes left and right, weird obscure agencies doing stuff that the gov't shouldn't even be doing in the first place, subsidising monopolies, wasting tax money to make a show of supporting a bill that is 100% known to be struck down as unconstitutional, and a whole laundry list of so many other things... It's HORRIBLE! I'm sick and tired; I wish I could fire these jokers.
Please people, don't keep electing back the same morans. Don't vote for Party X because it's what your family does. Grow a pair and vote for someone who will fix whats wrong with this country. I hate to turn around and generalise myself (so please do your research before voting one!), but I find most Libertarian cadidates want to fix our country. PLEASE let's let them.
As someone who has worked in the customer service field for years (and for many different companies), I agree. None of the companies I worked for allowed us to hang up on a customer except under very specific circumstances, the universal one being if the customer was directly abusive to me (the CSR). Of course, not all will operate on the same policies (point-in-case: AOL), but for this to happen in this situation sounds very odd.
IntraLASIK is a form of refractive eye surgery similar to LASIK that creates a corneal flap with a laser rather than with a microkeratome. It is regarded by many ophthalmologists as a risk free improvement to LASIK that is capable of providing more patients with 20/20 vision.
At this point I hope they *don't* ever finish DNF. It's a great running joke and the name just fits oh-so-perfectly! It would be a tragedy to lose that.:'(

The major flaw of that comparison is that VB was within Nintendo's field. Certainly not all of Apple's PCs have been amazing successes.
Now, if Nintendo had attempted to produce a home computer and that had flopped, it would have made much better comparison.
As it stands though, Apple showed that they were completely out-of-touch with a market they had never entered. Why would they be any better suited to lead that market now than they were back when the Pippin was being worked on? Because of their success in another completely different market (iPod)?
Dojo has already solved this and is also an all-around great ajax toolkit. It's major drawback is a horrible gap in documentation. If you're not afraid of mailing lists and IRC, this is easily overcome.
Because a computer can't play old psx games legally?
Actually you can. ePSXe will play your PSX games, all you need to do is grab your PSX's BIOS (which can be done fairly easily a variety of legal ways).
I can't really comment on the validity of what I said, I was born in the 80's and as such missed out on all that stuff. The theory I put forth was just one I've heard said by people who did live through it. They've told me that prior to "that cold war thing", pretty much everyone refered to the US as a Republic, but everyone seemed to switch to "democracy" during it.
That has nothing to do with the USA not being a democracy. We are and have been a Republic. I believe "democracy" became the pop term since it gave better warm squishy feelings (which "republic" just didn't have) when fighting "communism".
While I'm not certain why they are still shackled to LJ (especially after how far they've locked down commenting on there), they most certainly DO have an actual site: gamepolitics.com
It just seems like if people's electronics were being fried when not even plugged in there would be a blog entry or two about it. Sorry I don't mingle with career ff's; I don't make a habit of burning houses down and they don't seem to pick up night jobs at the helldesk.
You have to admit, it does sound like an outrageous claim to someone who has never heard of it before and who can't find any proof online to back it up. Or at least I'd hope you'd be able to admit that.
I've spent the past couple minutes googling around and I can't find a *single* mention of electronics being fried when not plugged in. It doesn't even make sense logically. Unless you can provide links giving proof, I'm calling BS.
Thanks, I knew it it looked familiar! :)
OSWD is a nice resource, but seriously, before you slashvertise, at least hire someone to make you your design. Sheesh.

Have you heard about the most recent discovery or what may be Noah's ark? Neat stuff.
This is where a "+1 Pwned" modding would come in handy.

Redneck is a race?
Wait, I though tthat the RIAA had already won the battle over Piracy?
....
Well, I guess there is precedent for prematurely claiming "Mission Accomplished!"
Wow, you've not heard of this?

Well, it does pass in a branch version. Not sure when it's going to be merged to trunk though.
For reference

This is one of the silliest things I've read all week.
Yes, the very profitable Nintendo is going to sell themselves to the maker of the Pippin. That would be a brilliant move!

is it too much to ask that /. editors actually edit the summaries a BIT? You know, to at LEAST have something like the follow:
"In an interview with the Guardian, Lawrence Lessig - a few words on why the heck I should care what this prune has to say - explains.."
I'm typically a very patient and forgiving guy, but it seems like over the last few months this has gotten worse and worse.

I wish I had mod points to give you. Pcxl was the finest gaming rag made. I even now enjoy looking back through the old issues.
Wish there was one out there that was even a third as good as it was.

Another thing about shortcuts I hate: some applications only install them for the account you installed the program with.
Odd, it's the exact opposite that I hate. I'll let the system know where I want my stuff, thanks.
