    you could theoretically setup your usbdrive to do the same, just performance would be shitty
    * They are essentially free, whereas I need to get my USB drives returned.
    that'll change soon, at least for the smaller drives. 64mb are only 10 and prices will fall rapidly
    * They don't autorun stuff when inserted.
    my usb drive doesn't autorun stuff either...
    * Works with Windows 98 (25% of the desktop market)
    you can easily download drivers for win98
    * They are bootable (handy when debugging a computer)
    as are usb drives
    * Works with DOS (handy when debugging a computer)
    who needs dos if he has a knoppix cd?

    I don't think so, I haven't much black market experience, but I think it's much easier to fake databases than stealing them. And judging by the ratio of fake software and audio sold on such markets I would say that the chances are good to be ripped of buying such databases

    How can you know? Since nobody knows what this "consciousness" is nobody can tell whether it's bound to our body's matter or not. It could be very well possible that consciousness is transfered with a perfect copy of the body.

    a year has 8760 hours. if you leave your pc on 24/7 and it's always under maximum load it consumes, say 400W, 400J/s. this is 0.4kWh/h, that'll be 3504kWh/year or 770.88$ (an kauai) 490.56$ (on honolulu). however you'll probably get away with 100$/year...

    Hom can someone believe that giving away for free something as valueable as a graphics card can be a profitable buisness?
    I wouldn't give them a single cent! They should better put their effort in reverse engineering the drivers for already in use hardware.
