Exactly. You admit yourself that you are not nearly as rational when it comes to acts of cruelty against animals.

Don't get me wrong - I love animals. Had a number of pets as a kid. But, lists like these ones are an extremely slippery slope and are really just politicians playing against people's fears and/or lack of rationality, or are a way to mask real problems. Lists create an environment for a person to be judged for the rest of their life (because, ya know, everybody ELSE is messed up, but I'm perfect and can judge them) for something that they may have already been punished for.

    Additionally, you also say:

Sure, let animal abusers serve their time. Even give'em a job.

The problem is, there will be enough people who will not only not give them a job, but they will also go out of their way to abuse and harm these individuals for something that may have been a brief, stupid adolescent move when they were young. One punishment, and done.

Good luck feeling inner piece when your daughter says she is going camping with him, when his little discresion in life was nailing a cat to a plank of wood while performing some autopsy while it was still alive. Over the course of an hour.

    Dear grouchomarxist,

Hello. I would say that you must be new here to Slashdot, but looking at your low, six-digit ID number, that is obviously not true. So, I must assume it has been quite some time since you have logged in given your surprise at a duplicated story on Slashdot. See, here at Slashdot, we believe that a story isn't a story until it's been posted two, three, maybe even four times. Only when that happens is the story something that has become true. Of course, it's also a good idea to post multiple duplications of a story in case someone missed the first one. The internet is really fast and stories can fly by in the blink of an eye. It's the same reason there are multiple road signs telling you of an exit on a highway - sometimes you miss the first one or two.

In any case, I just wanted to inform you, dear groucho, that this is not a mistake. Our editors are wise and the repeated stories they post are for the benefit of you and your brethren so that we may repeatedly make the same comments (and hopefully garner more karma).

Until the next "Google Dropping Gears Support" story, I bid you good day.

    Sincerely,

I know what you are hinting at with your answer (AKA "Don't use Facebook") but, the reality of the matter is that Facebook is used all the time with various groups, friends, etc that people are part of. Yeah, there is a high amount of noise, but it is *the* place for people to plan events, talk about life events, etc. While I wouldn't "die" without Facebook, my social life would most definitely suffer (and, yes, I mean a social life outside of Facebook - Facebook is a tool to help plan that). So, leaving Facebook is not necessarily an option.

To answer the GP post, I too would like to see Buzz integrate with Facebook - even if it is to see status and provide status updates.

I wonder how programs like MOSS account for this.

While this is rough, once I head home (driving in my day car, of course, I save my better cars for more important occasions), I can then relax in one of the many 289 rooms in my mansion, spend time in one of 6 hot tubs (of course, they come stocked with their own set of beautiful ladies) or just enjoy the 27 hole golf course that's spread across part of my 1000 acres of property.

Of course, after all of this, it is nice to spend a little time watching the latest movie in my own movie theater (iMax and 3D, of course), and then I always enjoy topping the night off by snuggling down in my King-King sized bed (yeah...a king sized bed x 2) - again, the aforementioned beautiful ladies are always there.
