i don't think apple is looking it in terms of the razor or blade... it seems it's more of a gateway to try and boast the features and advantages of an apple powered life (ipod, macmini, ibook) the fact thta they're making loads of money on tunes and pods it just a byproduct...
everybody i know who uses itunes and burns to cds and then re-rips to mp3 (accomplishing the same thing) this just preserves the "original quality"
if the record industry wants to slow piracy in any meaningful way they better stop releasing albums on audio cds
i wouldn't be worried about it's safety except that there is a long standing tradition that people who make fools of themselves are abused, and that could lead to some harm.
if you see superbowl commercials instructing you on how you can save on heartworm medication by buying online you know the bubble is back... for now i don't think we have to worry.
suprnova however was not running a bittorrent tracker and had not for a very long time... chances are that most of the trackers that were linked to from the torrents on suprnova are still operational... all that's needed is a new way of sharing the meta info (.torrents)
still sad to see suprnova gone after all this time...
what is it exactly that ibm does now???... the name has been synonymous with pc's for so long... what's really interesting is that ibm compatible may son mean compatible with their 64-bit powerpc cell processer and actually won't be ibm (past 20 years of production) compatible...
i can't think of anything intel produces that i could buy at the moment to amuse myself but if that disco ball hits ebay i don't think i could afford not to bid...
if neatly defined standards were practiced many a beta tester would be out of work... being sloppy is only bad if it isn't caught and corrected by a different departement
if the consumers aren't willing to upgrade their "brand new" dvd palyers to those that can play hd-dvd/blur ray discs there will be no winners only angry ceo's and unemployed marketers
