From ExtremeTech: "Still, Ntera claims that first production glass will be shipping at the end of the year, and intimated that a medical device manufacturer would be first out of the gate"
Considering the eBook prototype had an "issue", those won't be too far behind...but delayed, nonetheless.
Where I worked previously, they fired a good chunk of the IT department because management thought 3 people could get the job done. And so far, it's worked.
Back in 1998, when IBM unvailed their 18GB hard drive, I asked the same thing. Now, 120GB is standard hard disk size. So, who knows...you might actually find a use for 1TB.
From the article: "Due to the simplicity of the circuit design, the prototype unit does not discriminate between other sources of 2.4GHz RF, eg. "leaky" microwave ovens, cordless phones, etc. Future production units would feature surface-mounted components to decrease the detector profile and microcontrollers that discriminate between other RF sources, as well as indicate whether the Wi-Fi nodes are open/closed/encrypted, etc."

Yes. Don't just stop with "it boots Linux." Evolve it. Make it more functional. Push it's technical limitations. If you do that, it'll be worth it AND it'll be iPod quality.
As reasonable as the RIAA who will try to sue for the maximum of $120,000 per song? I think greed comes before reason in their case...unless someone here can tell me where all that money goes: if it really goes back to the artists or to the RIAA Stockpile for lawsuits.
I find it fascinating that the universe has an age, yet as far as I know, there's no end to it. How's that possible? Can you appropreatly put an age on empty space?
Somebody pull out a map and show me, please.
I skimmed the court order and TFA, but I don't see why Microsoft is listed as a defendant...

Aw, don't be such a stick-in-the-mud. We all know how to detect Wi-Fi networks. This just makes it fun.
Anyway, there are other good reasons to do open source.
To avoid things like this.
